Superjedi's SgtFang helmet

Wow, this has gone into 2 pages now?? Sheesh. I guess I'm posting too many pics. :D
Oh well, it's close to the end now anyway. ;) (y)

PROGRESS--Oct 19th:
Ears! Ears! OK, I've attached the left ear and lower portion of the RF ear. I used some nylon bolts I had left over from another project, with washers and nuts. I dremeled out depressions on the back side of each ear big enough to accept the head of the bolt, then stuck them in there with JB Weld. I smear enough JB on the bolt so that it kind of oozes over when I put it in place. That way, it forms a kind of "lip" over the bolt head. Once it dries, I just dremel off the excess so it's flush.
I then drill corresponding holes in the sides of the helmet, making them just large enough to have a little bit of play in positioning the ear. Then I just add a washer and small nut on the inside, and the ears are on there!
I'll do the same process for the upper portion of the RF ear tomorrow. The bolt on the upper portion will be longer, and will fit through the RF stalk, acting as a pivot as well.

Also, I've weathered the helmet using black and dark brown pastels, and added the "grease" smudges using Citadel yellow ink.
Pretty much all that's left is the tan "spatter" all over the helmet, and the thumprints near the kill stripes.
Finished pics to come!

Here's a close up, showing the pastel weathering on the left cheek.

And finally, another close up, showing the weathering on the little black stripes on the RF ear cap. Once it's clear coated, the silver will blend more.

PROGRESS--Oct 22nd:
COMPLETE!
Sheesh. . . My back, my eyes, my fingers. . .
OK, she's all finished. Many pics to follow. Thanks to everyone who's been viewing the thread.

Twins!! The pic below shows my brand new (old beat up) SgtFang helmet next to my loveable old MS1. I think they look cute together. (I know. . . parents always dress their twins exactly alike ;) )

These next few show different angles.

A couple closer views now, showing the weathering, including the tan "spatter" all over the front parts of the bucket, and the "thumbprints."

And finally, a moveable RF! I didn't even incorporate this feature into my MS helmet. :) A bolt epoxied into the ear cap goes thru the pivot on the RF stalk, and is attached inside the helmet with a washer and nut.

The RF topper is a solid resin piece, which I pinned onto the resin stalk. So it's not even glued on at all, and is easily replaceable. As is the stalk itself.

So it's been a lot of fun doing this helmet. I enjoyed everyone's comments and hope I've given at least one useful tip during this process!! (y)

And finally. . . this helmet is FOR SALE.
I have a price in mind, so if anyone is interested, feel free to PM me, and we can talk. :)

Absolutely amazing right there, SJ! Those helmets look identical ... ya are pretty darn talented if I may say so.

Were you plannin' on sellin' the helmet right from the time ya started workin' on it?

Thanks guys!
Spidey: sure, I'll try to get some outside pics.

Jimmy B: yeah, I was planning on selling this one when I got it.

I have an offer of $375 for this helmet. I'll continue taking offers till Tuesday, Oct 24th at 9:00 PM Pacific time. (y)
