stormtrooperguy's rotj helmet rattlecan colors

You could buy those paints at almost all hardware stores for prices varing anywhere from $20 to $70, depending on the store and brand of colors.

that is very nice!
graphite powder, aha :)

thanks for posting this :)

it's really surprising how well it works!

and since this reply reminded me... while my local home depot, true value and lowes stores ALL stopped selling rustoleum paints, AC Moore had a full selection of them, including all of the colors i named here and in the armor thread.

I found all the colours yesterday at a (Canadian) Home Depot; they had the full rustoleum line. The only thing I couldn' get was the dull-coat, but I found a satin finish clear sealant, so I'll give that a test. Still waiting for my DP 96 in the mail, but I'll be practising on cardboard in the meantime!

Instead of dullcote I am using a Flat finish clear coat I found at Lowes. Does anyone think this will be an issue. I am working on my first scratch build. Thx

looking to get started painting my first helmet. this looks like a good reference point for spraycans. what colors did you go by with upper cheeks. is that just flat black?

Hey Stormtrooperguy...thanks for the info. Its great, and the helmet is awesome. Do you have similar information for the ROTJ Jet-pack. I will be starting mine soon? I'll send you a PM too in case you aren't checking this thread anymore...Thanks in advance
Mike

This is great information. Definitely another great resource for beginning my ROTJ Fett helmet. Does anyone know if it really matters if I install the visor first, then paint the bucket? As long as I tape it off, it shouldn't ruin anything, correct?

So long as you do a good job of taping it off, it shouldn't matter. It's just easier with the visor not in the way.

That's what I assumed, but as I plan out the start of repainting the helmet I own, I wanted to see what others thought since they already have experience painting such great looking buckets. Thanks Webchief.

Also, does anyone have any recommendations for people that do painting for people. For example, I have a Rubies Fett helmet, and was wondering what it would cost to have someone paint it in the ROTJ paint scheme, and how long something like that would take?
