Start to Finish Boba DP Clean up, the Cold Casted

My goal is to have a nice and small helmet for those who are not very tall with nice crisp detail.

One of my friends, Jeanne, is about 5"5' with shoes on and she has been wanting a Boba helmet. So, she bought a Sgt. Fang helmet. Talk about a bobble head!! So, I am starting with a nice DP 95 helmet and a set of CNC made eats from psberetta. He has said I can make a many casts of them as I like. They where also made for a DP helmet. The helmet has very little warp that a craft ring and a heat gun should be able to fix. Then I used a craft ring to help it keep the shape. Then I used some roto cast to help it keep it's shape.

The first photo is the great set of ears that I got from psberetta.

To keep the scale, I took the DP range finder and cleaned it up. The lens on it was very wrong so I removed it. This way I can cast is up for ROTJ or ESB.

This is the first cast. Can you tell where I polished the helmet? I also did photos with and without a flash.

This helmet is going to Jeanne. I can't wait to see her face when she opens the box!!

If you look close, you will not see the Borden Connector. There are just a small circle and the 3 holes. That way I can put a real one there.

I have a DP that I'm "fixing" too. That was the first piece I'd bought. which sparked the whole project. (I'd been thinking about building a suit for years before, but never really set about it) My DP is one that came out around 99 or so, about the time the "deluxe" came out, and as far as I can tell is not one of the "too small, warped" messes I've seen out there. A friend of mine has a fiberglass "mystery" bucket that the sizing is pretty darned close. I'll post some pix soon as its close to being done!

Thanks guys. I also CC the MQ-1 as well. It looks sort of cool, you can see the traces in the board better. I can post a photo if anybody wants.

I am not sure when Jeanne will have time to paint it. But, I do know somebody who would like one (not myself) painted ROTJ for his sister.

My guess is 93%. Here is my ear next to the one the RS made. I currently do ot have access to a MR copy or a mystery helmet.

Well last night Bill gave me this helmet. I can't believe I never even saw all this talk going on about MY HELMET!! It is AWESOME---Kudos to Bill for all his hard work and for taking care of this for me....now that project I only have been thinking about can become a reality. Makes me realize how people with talent can do anything when they set their mind to it. THANKS SO MUCH BILL--this helmet will be very special to me forever!!

I am happy that you liked it. I was a little worried about that. Can't wait to see what you do with it. My guess is have Charlie paint it. If anybody else would like one, please PM me.
