Starchild99's ROTJ Paintup by AFFo$'s

Starchild99 has commissioned me to paint his RS Propmasters helmet in an ROTJ scheme and install a metal borden connector. Got the helmet primered and the connector installed today. Gonna let the glue set then touch up around the connector with some spot glazing putty before hitting it with a light coat of primer. Then I'll start laying down the base colors.

You're one of the few painters I can think of that does the ROTJ lid topically. . . or at least semi-topically.
I'm always interested in how different people tackle this paint scheme. The helmet looks so strange in
this sort of pristine state. But I know it won't stay that way for long!

I think if you ever did one of these E (nudge, nudge, wink, wink;)), your skills would comfortably do the helmet topically. However, I think the back panels silver with the shading may be best achieved layered - at least until the green goes on. Then there will be some misting and special effects fun to be had!

Sorry for the lack of updates. Been slammed at work. Landscaping this time of year is a 7 day a week business. Anyway, we're through the spring rush and I'll be posting updates regularly now. Here's some pics of the progress so far.
