Squashed nose syndrome ?

Does anyone else get their nose squashed against the visor area of the helmet ? What steps can be taken to prevent it ?

I dont have a big nose, and its more annoying than anything else

Thanks

Maybe readjusting the headliner. (OR) Do you wear a DooRag on your head when trooping? The not from tying the rag on your head, can push your head forward inside the helmet causing your nose to get smased up against the visor. Maybe try a headcap like the ones the NFL players wear? Then there's the last alternative, although a bit extreme, you can always go and get yourself one of those tiny Michael Jackson nose jobs!

My helmet "liner" is made of cheapo household sponges and they work like a charm.

the thing that keeps the visor from my nose is the fact the there's 1 sponge above the visor on my forehead that keeps the entire front of the bucket away from me sort of say.

I'll make picture... brb.

Maybe the Helmet that you have is to small for your head. What helmet do you have? You sure that you didn't buy a little kids helmet. There is a wide variety of helmets out there. I dont have any problems with them.

The DP 95 I have smashes my nose, I'm going to make a cutom mando for
my wife with it now. My MS2 does not touch my nose at all. Texas is right,
there is alot of sizes out there to chose from.

The helmet in question is a don post 95, It fits alright apart from the nose thing :). I usually wear a head scarf but they are quite long (disguises the fact that my hair grows upwards not unlike a afro  ) but the knot is too low to move the helmet forward. As for trooping its only got part of the visor removed and the back holes done at the moment. Ill try the sponge at the front of the helmet and see if that works otherwise its a bigger helmet I guess. I will probably leave the michael jackson nose job as I dont have room in the garden for a amusement park and zoo

Right now, my BM touches my nose too. But I haven´t finished it yet on the inside, no liner or something, so it sits a little to deep right now. As mentioned in my WIP thread, I plan to install the padding of my old biker helmet inside, and I am sure it will raise the bucket enough to give my nose some a rest. :)

Mine touches my nose too. I have a SGB, but my head is a little big too. I would love to find a MSH2 and try it on. I have heard those are for us folks that have large gourds.

I had a DP 96 and it touched my nose but only due to the fact I didn't have a liner inside otherwise I felt I wouldn't have that problem. Many ways to deal with this I guess whatever feels good to you and how much work you want to put into it. Like a previous poster indicated a sponge would do or perhaps a helmet liner transplant or safety helmet liner, any of which would work.

I have a freakn Charlie Brown head! I had a Don Post 95 that I thought was pretty darn nice but I had the same problem with my nose hitting the visor. My recomendation to you is do what I did, sell it on ebay and buy a MS. I can't say enough about the quality and craftsmanship of his work and his bucket fits my big head great! (y) He has a fairly quick turn around time and is a very nice guy to deal with. Ask any one you wont be disappointed.(y)

I have both a MSH2 and a BKBT dented jango. My MSH2 has tons of room in it which is really nice, but my nose does touch in my BKBT jango. Try one of Marrorw's MS3s it should do.

My DP96 used to touch my nose. I installed foam pieces for a liner, similar to RBF. I have very little padding in the back and more in the front so my head sits farther toward the back. Problem solved.

I'm going try the padding this weekend (unless we are asked to worked again :facepalm ), going use the spare padding from my down hill/bmx cycle helmet and see how that works (some of those helmets resemble the dome of Boba fetts helmet by the way) :) The marrow sun helmet looks nice, but so does the bobamaker helmet, I'm guessing they are bigger than the 95 ?

You can put a big piece of foam in the front pushing the helmet forward away from your nose, and leave the back unpadded. Or you can get a great big huge helmet lol I can spin mine around on my head with three fans in it.

I tried the padding method this morning, first with the helmet padding and then with the little cleaning sponges but still got my hooter squished . with a visor inanstalled it would be even worse. looks like I had best get a bigger helmet and use this one for display.

Go see a Voodoo medicine man and have him shrink your head to fit the helmet.

But seriously, I agree. sell it on ebay and buy a MS helmet. I have a MS2 and it has plently of room. I converted mine to a Jango and have so much more room than my converted Rubies one.

I will keep as it took ages to find a 95 and buy one of Bobamakers helmets as is in UK.
