Hey, just about finished my first fett helmet, wanted to do something a bit different, like the helmet had been discovered after years of being in the sarlacs guts, still got to do the interior, but you get the idea

SWEEEET!!!
that right there is blinkin amazing!
are you going to do the rest of the costume like that? cuz that would be freakin awesome !!!
yeh he did escape and swap out armor cause it was jacked up
What is that cast of? It looks like actual bronze or something.
great work here and great idea !!
thanks, glad you like it, its a fibreglass helmet i bought painted off ebay a few years ago, i had heard oven cleaner would strip paint so tried that, it did remove the paint, but also had eaten through the gelcoat in places as well, that gave me the idea.
i sprayed the helmet with fleckstone texture paint, primed it, then added the holes etc with my dremmel, then gave a basic bobba paint job, the patina effect is not paint, its a chemical from chemtek paints, you sponge it on over still wet paint then leave it for a half hour for the affect to appear, bit hit or miss but i got it in the end.
No plans to do the whole suit, but that is a good idea, maybe someone else will end up doing it, bit pricey i imagine
Interesting idea for a costumeHope you took plenty of notes on how you got the effect. You should perhaps do a tutorial

Well as i didn't think anyone would be bothered by it i didn't take any pics, sods law!
I started the interior today and added some more paint here and there

I love the finish on this, I tried doing the same thing to a "ancient Chinese martial art sword prop" before with horrible results.
That's actually quite cool.. I like the concept!![]()
Zombie Fett! Love it!!
That's very cool and original.
Sean
Ditto, ditto, ditto! Awesome and very original!
So sick!
Very cool looking helmet and a great idea.
wow, you did a great job on the weathering... that really looks like pitted, rotted old metal.
cheers, i am thinking maybe i'll sculpt a shoulder section for display, similar to the sideshow version, but i'll need a visor for it, are there any uk makers i can get a visor from? i allready have the fibreglass chest armour.
gotta say that is pretty cool... love the Idea..
thanks, i'm glad everyone likes the idea, i know the helmets not accurate, just wanted to get the look of a helmet thats been sat in a moist enviroment a long time
I bought one of bobamakers visors, really nice, shame i had to basically trash it to match the rest of the helmet
more washes etc around the back

NICE!!!!
wicked :]]] great idea , fantastic build .
Cheers
Took a trip out to the beach today, took a couple of shots
We have an art instalation at the beach, 'anthony gormleys another place' a series of iron statues of the artist facing out to sea, basically he lifecast himself.
Well i felt it needed a star wars moment, i had to edit out his erm 'tackle' as no one on here wants to look at that, lol

pics looks great, nice job
That last pic should be on a Pink Floyd cover. Storm Thorgerson would be proud. lol!
This is amazing! Think you might do a a whole suit? Obviously the soft bits wouldn't have survived the Sarlac but it still might be a fun project. Well done!
thats a great paintjob, looks really convincing. what an original idea.
Very cool indeed![]()
