Which size visor?

I made my bucket from the WOF plans (I'll post pictures a little later.) So, based on that, which size visor would I need from t-visor.com? Also, do those visors provide enough of a lip that I can attach them with hardware and avoid the usage of glue or would it just be better if I went the way of the welding shield.

Speaking of that real fast . . . how well can you see OUT of the welding shields? My friend has a welding shield and unless you're staring directly at light, you can't see anything.

Thanks.

t-visors.com posts measurements of the visors they sell; get out a measureing tape and check out the dimentions of the visor area of your bucket. That should help you make your decision.

I wasn't sure how the measurements were taken (which is the reason I started this thread, I suppose I should have stated that.) Meaning, I didn't know if they actually measured the concave surface of the visor as well or just from tip to tip, not taking into account the bend of the plastic.

it doesn't matter how they measure. i bought one and wasn't happy at all. they are too thick and not flexible enough. i got a welding shield from the source in the other thread, and it is perfect, it has the correct tint, it's thin enough, vision is awesome, and it's easily cut to size to fit any helmet out there.

well first,
which helmet are u doing, esb or rotj?? esb has the dark green visor so you will need the welders shield if ur doing that helmet.....and rotj has the dark smoked visor which u will need the black/smokey one......

and just my 2 cents ...... i have a t-visor for my rotj from t-visor.com and they are really nice and fit EXACTLY like it states it does for the make of my helmet. its only about an 1/8" thick or so. and it holds its shape whcih u want...u dont want something flimsy where it will distort or get that "wavey" look to it from being on the thinner side. (y)

the welding shield does not distort, it ain't flimsy and not "wavey";)

i wasnt necessaraly talking about most welding sheilds. ;)
in most aspects there fine..... but SOME types are flimsy and thin like the plastic visors on kiddie toy helmets etc.....and to watch out for that is all...:) (y)

Thanks for the heads up . . . and I'm doing a custom Mando. If I were going to do a BF helmet I would want the details to be spot on and I just don't want to invest that sort of time into it . . . especially for my first one.

Definitely appreciate the feedback . . . so I'm going for a welding visor (shade 5 - I like the greenish) that isn't too flimsy.
