Showing a Little RotJ Love

Here's a few 'in progress' shots of my modified Sgt Fang bucket that I'm painting up in a ROTJ paint scheme. I'd say she's about 50% done. Right now I'm concentrating primarily on the dome. And since I just purchased one of Asok's FP Cold Cast helmets, I will be offering this one up for sale upon completion (probably take a couple of more weeks to finish) just in case anyone may be in the market for a ROTJ helmet. Anyway, on to the pics... RotJ Bucket A.JPG

Awesome bro! I assume you are using your rattle can colors? I am actually painting up one of those Mystery helmet recasts with your colors, cause yours always look so good. Before anyone jumps on me, I do not support recasters. The bucket was given to me, and I used it for rework practice, plus rattle can tryouts. I will probably hang onto it for display.

A little more progress. Started applying damage to the back of the helmet and getting some of the grey misting applied there as well. One thing that I love about the RotJ Helmet is that it seems to be more 'realistically' damaged and weathered where as the ESB seems to be more 'artistically' damaged and weathered. But don't get me wrong...ESB is still my favorite. :p

Very nice....I feel the same way about the helmet it is alot more realistic then stylized ESB....it is my fav to paint and fav to look at....Ive done at least 10 now

Finished the front of the helmet (minus the final dustings of grey's) and installed the visor. Now on to the left ear and the back. Trying to get this baby finished up before Squirk's MSH1 arrives for me to mod and paint.

Let me get my ASOK CC FP prepped and I'd be happy to do an ear/cheek tutorial. The ears are pretty straight forward. Spraypainted silver then brushed on Pollyscale 'Grimey Black'. After it has dried, take some fine grain sandpaper and sand the grimey black down to the silver in the appropriate areas. Then take a pointed artists brush and some Model Master silver and hand paint the signature scratches to make it match up with the screen used helmet. The cheeks involve a couple of layers of different colored greens, but aren't really difficult to do.

Thanks for the info on the ears! (y) I might have to give that a try on some scrap plastic.
For my PP2 I have already sprayed on 2 shades of Model Master Metallizers. I sprayed them in very random misty patterns so it's hard to distinguish that there's more than one tone.
I was considering maybe trying to airbrush some Tamiya Smoke over the base coat, and then doing some strategic sanding.

As Rafal said, whoever buys this will have one heckuva helmet!!
