Shady auction...what is this?

Go to eBay and type in "fett helmet"...and you will find a very interesting auction.

It's a boba helmet, and jduging by the small, grainy pics it looks very accurate...the description is very short and it claims it is a "hollywood screen cast" or something.

Doesn't sound like much, knowing eBay, but the pictures I found interesting...

Are you refering to this helmet?

If so I don't know, it looks awefull.....well just plain awefull. Look at all that damage. It isn't a screen seen paint job for sure. And I doubt any real (movie) helmet has all that damage all over it.

Look at the massive chunk missing from the bottom of the right (as you look at it) mandible. Anyone who spends money on this thing is a perfect example of the quote "a fool and his money are soon parted".

I think that may just be the wrinkle in the fabric its sitting on obscuring that part of the mandible.

Guys, hate to be a whiner, but didn't a thread like this get pulled a long time ago because it's not really fair for us to knock someone's work.

Ok, they may be selling it and trying to make money but someone did work to get that helmet to where it is.

I'll admit it's not great compared to some of the other helmets out there, but I can remember a time before i had even found these boards that my first helmet (an ebay kit) looked not so different. It seems that every time someone opens up one of these threads about a helmet they have seen on eBay it turns into a flaming of the seller. For all the newbies joining they are gonna be pretty scared to show their progress if they consider it to not be on the same scale as some of the other members here

Guys, we all know we can't post links to other people's live auctions so what would make you think it'd be OK to elude to that auction and then post it's photos?

Didn't we all just go through a discussion recently about the mob-mentality? Can we just agree that the negativity around here lately really needs to stop?

Thank you.

On that note, drokkul I can't read anything you type without the Zapper's valure voice in my head. Kudos. Anyone else have this problem?

That's funny you should say that. Because that's exactly what I sound like when I talk everyday...

Just like...

The man with no name. Zapp Brannigan at your service.

I thought there have been other threads where people who unknowingly posted links to live auctions were told to remove them by a mod and then told to post a pic instead? Not trying to be smart or anything (so please don't take it that way, Webchief), I'm just really pretty sure that I've seen that before.

I don't think that this thread was originally posted in the feeling of lets gang up on so and so. I think that it was brought up because of the auction's suspect nature. The wording in the auction almost makes it seem like this is a long forgotten about LFL piece that they are now auctioning off.
