SGB V2 McQuarrie Concept Fett paint up by ThirdEthree

Hey!!!
I recently took a break from working on my ESB GMH paint up in order to get this helmet painted.
I was able to pick up both versions of Skygunbro's McQuarrie Concept Fetts, V1 & V2(Hopefully V3 comes to fruition.)and decided to have some fun and paint the V2.
If you've ever had the opportunity to own or see Jason's helmets, they are super cool!
The sculpts are great and the fiberglass is really solid.
Now this kit started kind of rough, the helmet required a little TLC in order to get it paint ready, but nothing out of the ordinary. I took complete artistic license in the paint up. I know according to McQuarrie's drawings, the paint scheme is fairly simple. I wanted to give it some life without taking away from the simplicity and character of the helmet itself, so I decided on a damage pattern that I thought was cool, without going overboard. Kind of like the PP1 of the Concept fett world.
I primed the helmet in Floquil primer, with a base coat of Floquil Bright Silver.
Damage layer consists of SP Lark Dark Gray, and a top coat of Model Master Classic white Mixed with a good amount of thinner to give it a glossy sheen. Damage areas were misted with a very thin mixture of Floquil Weathered Black, Floquil Up Armor Yellow, and Testors Flat Brown enamel. not sure of the exact ratio as I mixed it on the fly. it was about 4:1 thinner to paint.
Black details on the back panels and RF are Floquil Weathered Black.
Let me know what you guys think!!

That is SWEET!!! One of the great things about painting helmets like this is that you get to use your own creative interpretation on the scrapes and scratches. Very impressive!

My thoughts exactly! Seeing the variation of the iconic Fett helmet paintjobs makes almost impossible to do your own scratch style without copying some of the existing features, but this is what makes you to say: Yeah, that's Boba Fett! That is one awesome helmet!
3rdE3, you did it again! Congratulations for the excellent paintjob!

Yeah, really nice job on this Eric. It's always refreshing to see different takes on Fett, and this is really great. Congrats bro! :)

This is a really cool idea! I would eventually like to get one of these V2 concept helmets and had always figured I'd have it painted up nice and pristine. Now I'm not so sure!
