Scratchbuilt v 2.0...question for the masses
Okay, these are the pics of the 85% complete Rawlings batting helmet mod.
I still have to do the visor install and build the RF (I've built two of these already, and they were both horrible and smashed them for frustration relief). That one little piece has driven me to the point of insanity..........:lol
This bucket will have to do until I can afford a FG model because there is absolutely no way I will ever do this again...lol. I know some of the proportions are weird and the ears look a little off, (they are) but the over all appearance will do. The paints are all Rouge's colors and I think they look awesome....can't wait to paint a real helm!
Re: Scratchbuilt v 2.0 Question for the masses
OK....I've "tacked" the visor in temporarily. There is 5mm difference between the width of the top of the visor and the bottom. 48 at the top and 43 at the bottom. My question is.......do you all think i should shave the insides of the mands at the bottom to even it out, or leave it be and move on to the RF.
Re: Scratchbuilt v 2.0......RF size
Been working diligently on RF #3. Haven't smashed it (yet). Dimensions are:
72 mm long
28mm height thick end
10 mm height narrow end
28 mm wide both narrow ends top view
35mm wide widest point top view
This is as close to correct as I can figure with scaling pics and such. Lemme know if I'm off........I was going to make it solid, but I was in Walmart (surprise)
and I saw this neato cool Ever-ready flashlight with a blinking red LED (so you don't lose it at night lol). $3.99........I tore the board out of it and soldered another red LED and a green one for the viewpiece and voila! RF lights. Only thing is only one of the red one blinks....but for 5 bucks I guess I'll live with it.
Here's the pics.
Re: Scratchbuilt v 2.0......ALL DONE!!!
K......all done. Installed the walmart flashlight rf board, and mercury switch. Works great. I love walmart man.
Anyways, Last of the pics, and on to the armor forum!!:thumbsup
