Scratch Build Helmet with Rafals Templates

Hi everyone!

I'm new to this site and just wanted to start a little thread about my scratch build Boba Fett helmet. I've never really been skilled in manual working. Maybe this is the reason why I'm working for the CBP and not in a factory or a workshop. :D Nevertheless I collected WH40K miniatures and painted them. At least I tried...

I always wanted to have a Stormtrooper Helmet or even better a complet armour. But my wife doesn't like the idea because it's so expensive. Even though she really likes Star Wars. I browsed the internet for armours and helmets and than I found this site. And then it hit me like a hammer. I wanted to have my own Boba Fett bucket. This bad ass character who so mysterious. I looked for helmets to buy, but I liked the idea of building my own from scratch. It doesn't need to be screen accurate because I know my skills and my first build will probably be not that good. :p

So much for the reasons. I downloaded Rafals templates, bought 2mm cardboard, a scalpel, glue, got me some scissors and startet the adventure. Because I'm shift working I'll be not able to work on the helmet that often. Besides we're moving at the end of february and we'll have to finish our new appartement first. I just finished the inner layer and I still have to fill the gaps. But this is the progress by now.

But I'll try to update this thread and I'm looking forward for any suggestions, ideas, criticism (postiv or negative) and so on.

Cheers from Germany
