i guess this would be mostly a question for brak's buddy, but anyone else with information/pics/links would be greatly appreciated. i'm curious to know how much reference material is there for the "sandy" helmlet? has anyone painted one? from the limited pics i've seen, it looks pretty sweet. and i'm thinking with sarge offering helmets again, i might have to get another helmet for a sandy project for the fall.

*edit* ok i just had an epiphany, sandy damage for a holiday special. could be cool.

the "Sandy" Fett helmet, yes. i think it looks really sweet, kind of rotj colors but totally sexy.

I love the Sandy helmet too. Probably because of the rarity of pics. May end up painting my extra helmet up to be a Sandy.

We probably have less info/reference on this helmet than any other. We know it was painted at the same time as the PP2 and RotJ and by the same person, Sandy. Beyond that, we know that is was damaged very badly at one point (although we can't ID it in the movie so we don't know when this happened) and now resides in the LFL Archives. We have one small pic of it from right after it was painted, the pic that recently came out in the the Insider, a couple of shots of it in the archives and that is about it. I am not sure there is enough refernce to do a thorough paint job. I think you would end up having to make up some of it as you went along, especially the areas where the damage occured (above the non rangefinder ear area), and also the area behind the rangefinder ear. We don't have reference for those areas.

While it is similar in style to both the PP2 and RotJ, in my opinion, it has the worst and mostly patchy paintjob of the three. The dome especially has layer after layer after layer of weathering and to me, it just doesn't quite mix well. The rear of the helmet has a very RotJ look with the key slot area all grey. The Sandy helmet has an MQ-1 intact and has the little knubs as seen on the RotJ and PP2, which in all likelyhood were added by Sandy as we don't see them on the other helmets.

Sorry for taking so long to reply.
