    saint_nasty's newest boba helmet

it's been a long time since i've painted a boba helmet, some of you may remember the thread of my ms3 paint up. well, my boba costume has been in semi-retirement for almost a year, due to the fact that i haven't had a helmet to wear because i needed to get jango done back in december. anyway, i started on this helmet forever ago, i want to say last october i painted the dome, then i was slowly tracing the damage templates (from rafalfett) onto the back panels for the past three months and last night i finally got the green painted on. i figured i should share my progress, because it'll encourage me to get this done by oct 8th so i can be in a weird al concert.

the helmet is a FP MR proto-premium, i have aluminum ears for it from commando eight, aluminum rf stalk from bkbt, terminal fettler hollow aluminum rf topper, and a mrgr8ness self-contained rf led. i'm going to put a remote controlled servo in the helmet as well as a helmet contained voice amp, but more on those later in the build. now it's time for some pics.

ok guys, painting is finished. i realized why i don't do many update pictures along the way, because it would require me to untape the helmet and i don't want to add more steps retaping the entire thing. so here it is:

i used this gallery http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/galle...di-helmet.html for my reference except for the back panels which i used rafalfetts templates because i kind of hate doing the back panels.

*edit* sorry for the pictures, i guess my tablet needs better lighting conditions.

Beautiful work my friend! Working on a jedi helmet myself at the moment, so it really has me excited about whats needed for that style paint up, so glad to see more ROTJ lids out there - and yours is a ripper! :-)

i've been really enjoying your paint up thread. it's really a beauty. i'm glad you like what i've done with my helmet, especially since i hate painting the back panels.

You wouldnt know it mate, as your back panels turned out great! Even with the darkened lighting in your final pics, it seems like you got all the colours down pat really nicely, and they all work really great together. Congrats again on a job well done bud! :-)
