RS Zip Zap Mini RC RF Servo Tutorial

Thanks Crimson, those cars should work. They all have the same concept you just have to figure out the layout of the circuitry and compare with mine and you should be okay.

Great i managed to pull one apart and test it,

My concern now is that what is there to stop the RF finder as it comes down, my servo has a range of 180 but this only needs to go 90

Is there a way to build in a safe guard to stop the servo once the stalk is lowered ?

Its hard to tell when your wearing the mask

I don't think it would matter whether it's analog or digital since the setup isn't using PWM to move the servo (the yellow wire is what sends the movement signal to the servo).

I've contemplated using one of the random RC devices around... You just confirmed it AND put together an excellent blueprint for it.

Great work, great rundown.

Yep. I've being in this boards for about 13 years. Lots of things have changed with time.

Radio Shack is no more, and technology changes through time. At least we still have alternatives for our needs.

And yes, expect to spend at least $2,000 in your costume (for starters, and as the cheapest) in your first try if you try to go the accurate way.

Well said. There's a saying in my industry (which I'll slightly alter to apply)... You think doing it the right is expensive, wait til you see how much more you'll spend fixing things you went quick and cheap on.

Even though with new developments and fans coming with new ideas, new accurate facts, accurate props, found parts (rarely, but it happened before, and don't be surprised if someone seeing one or two in the next few years).
