RPF Thread showing Helmet discovery?

hmmm...he could be onto something there! I remember someone saying that part of the helmet may be the front of a counter of some sort, it looked alot like that right there. If thats the right size...id want a casting of it! lol Thats the one part of my scratch build im really not thrilled with.

Figured I may as well register here. As I mentioned in the RPF thread, I discovered the part in a bin over @ Apex yesterday. I have a Fett Helmet in my garage that I need to dig out and compare. But, as it seems to turn out with me, I probably have a casting of a recast off of a recast - so I don't know if I can trust the sizing. Is there a reference here that shows the rear of the helmet with a ruler on it? That would end the speculation real quick.
As for going out to Apex again, good luck finding another. Good luck finding a second of ANYTHING in that place. It was literally laying on top of some parts in a bin inside the place (not in the yard). It will be like finding a needle in a haystack.
Let's figure out if it is the real thing first......

After seeing some photos here and talking to some other people, I don't think this is IT. Close, but not IT.
Some additional measurements for those that want to see how close it is -
Width of the narrow slot - 20mm
Width of the wider slot - 32mm
Height of both slots - 9mm
Height of six slots - 88.5mm
Hope this helps. There are no markings on it, and no indication of what it was for. As I stated before, I didn't see any additional pieces where I saw this (either the same, or a variant).
