ROTJ Paint Color List for Helmet

Folks keep PMing me for the colors I used on Ripcodes helemt and here they are easy to find. I will specify the exact grays I used as I have time.

Humbrol matt 31(main color)

Cabboose Flouquil enamel (mandibles)

Rainbow hobby enamel
"54 Blu Marina"(Lower cheeks)

Tamiya
"TS 43 Racing green"(rear)

Color to mist on top of the Tamiya racing green as the Tamiya color was too deep green this will add just a little blue and grey hue:

Humbrol enamel 88 (rear) *Use this color to tone down the main green by dry brushing it on lightly.

Humbrol super enamel 82 (killstripes)

You can use various grays for the some of the areas around the scratches.

The misting/weathering was done by mixing some gray enamel with Weathered black and lightly airbrushign it on.

The rust on the ears was weathered black with some rust enamel.

Forhead arrow was Insignia Red.

Discolorations were darkend and lightened Matt 31 Humbrol enamel by mixing white and or weathered black.

Silver was Hubrol Chrome Silver enamel.

I too just converted from SE to pure ROTJ, psberetta! Figured a change is good to do once in a while.

If any of you folks have any difficulty getting any of the colors above, even the Humbrol colors, drop me a pm. I have a really great hobby shop that carries all the above colors I can pick up and send out to ya if needed.

Yea I will be painting two buckets with these colors here very soon one ROTJ and one pre-pro2. Evan was nice enough to get me some of these colors since my local hobby store suck.

I have a question. What is the difference between SE and pure ROTJ? thanks

SE is using the ESB helmet on a ROTJ suit.

SE = special edition. For the special edition of ROTJ, they included some additional Fett scenes, they used the original ROTJ suit, but for some reason, put an ESB bucket on. Hence, Rotj SE = ROTJ suit + ESB bucket!!

I would be down with dat.

I will be adding a few more details to this thread this weekend along with pics of natural light, flash and non flash swatches of the color chips for folks as well. This will give folks the ability if they cant find a particular color to just match it best they can.

Hey bud, glad Mike was able to help you out with the paints. Sadly time isnt something I have alot of and I often bite off alot and keep my self super busy. I know Predatormv asked me to pick some up and I was un able to find time.

Is that the only difference - just an esb helmet on ROTJ suit?

not exactly...wookie braids were ESB knees were different than regular ROTJ i think there are several variations though in the different special edition bobas whether it be ROTJ or ANH

Has anyone used this paint list with Rafal Works' stencils?

noob here, These are just airbrush colors right? or are these spray paint colors available at a hobby shop?

New here. Had a question. I'm working on a painting my ski helmet with a ROTJ look. I'm using Krylon for plastic paints and was not sure if there's a clear coat that anyone could recommend. I was coing to use the Krylon clear for plastic. But am not sure. Sorry if this is posted in the wrong place. Thanks. Love the board.

Cool, that is what I was thinking, I just didn't want it to make the other colors run. Is there any cause for concern? Should be done with it this week. Will post pics. Thanks.

Cool, thanks. I've tried to read up on this but there are so many ways to do this stuff. All my painting is done, just not sure what to do next. Do I wet sand it with 1600 grit, that will leave wear marks, scuffs, won't it? But will those go away and get covered by the matte clear coat? Again, thanks for the help.
