How are you finding your JP hooks? Are they standing up to the constant movement of attaching and unattaching and not bending open?

I love your build progress, it looks great from start to finish! Keep up the awesome updates!

How much was the chin strap? I have the chin cup but haven't been able to find a strap for it.

Edrrak Nolat- my pack is on the heavy side and I have not noticed any movement in the hooks. The hooks are on the thicker side and were a challenge to bend!
RafalFett- As always thank you for the encouragement and motivation! Pacing along here..
Jc27- I got and old vintage Riot helmet off of Ebay for 25$ and just cut the straps out. It is not 100%, but i think it will work for now!

So I got some work done today! I decided to start on making some arms for my half-mannequin before starting on the gauntlets.
I went to my local HD and picked up some 1/2" pvc pipe and connectors. I also got 2 metal flanges and the pvc connectors for them. these will serve as a way to connect the arms to the body.
20130713_152331.jpg
I also found a water noodle thing for the pool, that was a perfect size to mimic an arm. I made a wedge out of the noodle and will use this inbetween the flange and the mannequin body. I drilled holes through everything and used a machine bolt to tighten everything up.
20130713_152357.jpg20130713_160404.jpg
Next I cut the pvc pipes to the length of my upper arm and forearm, and used the appropriate connectors.
20130713_152953.jpg
Then I cut sections of the pool noodle, and sculpted the forearm into shape with a box cutter blade.
20130713_152425.jpg20130713_153624.jpg20130713_162740.jpg
And finally all put back together! The arms are customizable by changing out the joints I can make them do pretty much what I want. Once I have some rotj gloves (wink wink to anyone with a pair) I will position the arms to their finally location.

Added a couple parts to the gauntlets and painted the flamethrower box. The nozzles are not in the right spot yet, since they are not permanently installed.

Been awhile, lots of updates!
I finally built some legs, and got some hands. Purchased cod/knees/boots. Still need to weather boots, but I painted up the cod/knees, and made a custom kidney plate and painted. I have almost finished the guantlets, about 98% done. I do still have to either get a jumpsuit or custom build pockets for mine. I am also still missing shin tools. I have a set of Mojo toe spikes on the way, so i will weather boots when the spikes arrive.

I received some Mojo toe spikes, and started to weather my Mow boots. I bought some acrylic paint, and made washes to weather the boots. In person the boots have much more blue/purple hues to them. The darker area are weathered with brown and black paints. once they were dry i hit everything with testors clear coat.

You don't necessarily 'need' to use grommets, just because Lucasfilm did. You can be fine with velcro, snaps, or magnets as well.
