RF Camera lens observation

Hey all...

Thought I'd share something with the community. There are several models of the Polaroid SX-70 camera out there, and not all of them have the same viewfinder lens. Some of them say model 2, model 3 or even Alpha 1. As far as I can tell, the one that's right has no designation, just SX-70 Land camera on it. The Alpha 1 look s right too, but I can't say for sure.

I don;t have any links, but in pictures, the model information is on the fron face of the camera. It will say model 2, 3, or Alpha 1 (or nothing but SX-70 land camera) right on the front. Something to keep in mind

The SLR 680 also has the right lens.

My suggestion is to look on ebay and add words like broken. There are some SX-70's that have a different lens. So, get a photo before you buy.

The viewfinder "window" on the ESB helmet RF.

Asok, are you sure that one has the same window...? The other versions of the SX-70 have very similar ones too, but the one I bought has a tiny viewfinder square hole. It can be modified veru easily, but I'd rather not bother personally.

The model 2 and model 3 have this lens pictured below. (Much to my dismay after I bought a model 3 unwittingly) It can be modifed by cutting the small window larger, since its the size size and shape, but its better to start with the real deal in my book. Hope this helps anyone.

That is the same one I bought. That is why before I buy one now, I ask for a photo.
