Return of the Jedi WIP

Figured I'd post this over here, where it's more relevant.

I personally feel like Boba's helmet is going to be a very damaged item, with all the bounty grabbing he does. So I felt like I needed to micro it up quite a bit, a lot more than I've seen anybody else on here do to their helmets. It's a personal flavour I like, so let me know how you guys feel about it.

I'm not too fond of the kill stripes, but I'll have to work with those to make them better. The paint I used was terrible, and I discovered that after I sprayed it. My fault for not testing the can to make sure it was still good first. And I still have a lot of silver retouching to do. Rangefinder and stalk haven't been started yet, they still need to go through some sanding and general retouching.

Also, does anybody know why thumbnails aren't working, or is it just me?

i haven't studied the ROTJ lid as much as i have the ESB , but to me it looks like you are doing great job.. once you get that Blue/black color on the upper cheeks/lower mandible.. that will really set it off

I agree with Justin. The upper cheeks, when they are that blue/black/darkish green/who knows what colour....will be awesome

The mandibles are actually a tad bit more blue, the lighting washed that out. But looking back on my references I can definitely see where you guys are saying it's not blue/black enough.
Is the back supposed to be the same colour? My references make it seem like they are side by side, but the back definitely looks more green than the mandibles in a different angle.

The back is a different colour than the upper cheeks - it has its own base colour.

The dome and the lower mandibles are the same base green.

What kind of paint are you using? Check jayvee's ROTJ love thread for all the right colours.

Thanks, I looked through that thread, I'm not using airbrush, rather rattlecan. It's all Rusto paint so I'm mixing on the surface rather before I spray. I've been browsing around through the spray colour threads. Right now I've got the back and mandibles the same colour, and the dome and lower cheeks the same colour.
But that shall be remedied. The mandibles are about to get a heavy black and blue misting, that's for sure.
