re-hash bucket

Sorry for the delay guys, but i have been moving jobs (and i am about to move companies again in the next couple of days). So in a word i have been really really busy.

I have got the first cast out at long last but probably won't get the others out till after xmas now :(

I really am so sorry for anyone waiting for these.

I will try my hardest to get them to the people who have been waiting a while.

thanks for being patient :facepalm

No worries Jon, can wait a bit longer, worth the wait! 8)
Cheers Steve. it will be worth the wait buddy (i'll sort you out with a good quality cast ;))

Its just with the missus still suffering from her injury and then with me messing about with my career, its all gone a bit Pete Tong at the mo

Oh my... GAWDS!! If my menory serves me, I was the first to ask for one of your buckets.. I thought that the last ones were perfect, But these.. Oh hill, should I just dump the metal sheets I've cut to dumpster, and get one of these..??! Ah, the choices of the life. Sweet work there. And please, MORE updates to cheer those depressed...

Well i am really doing my swede on this project :( I initially cast a fg lid about a month ago and it didn't quite come out as planned. I have now tried again and i think the problem is that my silicone mold is too thin. I now plan to thicken my silicone mold and try again

The problem at the moment is the mold is 'blowing inwards' and distorting the shape of the fibreglass and gel coat

I have now thickened the silicone mold and have literally just gel coated a new lid. I will be fibreglassing tomorrow and will hopefully have pics of the first raw cast bu Sunday night :)

fingers crossed (big time)

I have now fibreglassed the dome and will be fibreglassing the sides this evening :) Its loking good people.

Just remember a cheap fibreglass helmet is just around the corner ;) I think i will be letting these go for approx £50 ($90) plus p&p.

Well the first has literally been pulled from the mold. Its a bit rough but after being cleaned up i am sure it will be great.

btw my lid is the white one. The good looking lid in the background is a Terminal Fettler lid

i've had that very same too thin silicone problem. i'm bulking mine up too.

its a real bummer for sure. I ended up putting on some extra thick silicone rather than more thin layers (until now i didn't even realise you could buy different thicknesses of silicone).
