Rangefinder pics? Can anyone show me theirs?

I've been looking at the pics on the Fett reference CD, and almost all of the rangefinder shots are either clear underneath, or blurry as hell.

Can anyone with a non-clear rangefinder please post a few pics of it? I'm still trying to decide how to paint the "screen" side of it.

if i am not mistaken, the underside is clear. I can post some pics of my dp96 rangefinder, if that would help. Please forgive my webcam.

This is how I am going to paint mine. I have made myself a clear one. It is also hallow so I can put the LED's in it.

But the rangefinder I have is NOT made from clear resin.

So my dilemma is - How DO I paint it? Since there's obviously no way to make it clear...
I'm thinking grey for the clear parts, maybe?

Maybe a very light gray.

i would go with white as the base coat and then apply light grey. But that's just me.

I've just redone the join between my rangefinder and the stalk... Using wood for the stalk, and building up the "T" section using Milliput.
So far it seems strong enough to hold it... And I think it looks alright, too.
