Range Finder and stalk help

Hey guys and gals,
just signed up here looking for some help and info. After years of collecting Fett stuff I finally got me a helmet which is now being painted. I'm close to finishing it off. However I still need some parts. I wanted to add the Hyperdyne Labs Leds and servo to move the stalk up and down. I do not have a stalk ,the right ear cover (upper piece that covers the stalk) or the range finder yet. Any idea where I can get some real accurate pieces that would work with the Hyperdine Labs stuff??? Any help is highly appreciated. I would prefer an aluminum stalk. I might even be able to make a stalk myself but would need measurements, The cover and range finder???

here's a pic of the helmet, mystery bucket that still needs some paint applied.

Welcome to TDH, dude!:cheers

I regards to getting some good equipment for the Hyperdyne rig, I would suggest the following: For the aluminum hollow stalk and ears, check out this thread and post that you are interested:
*OFFICIAL INTEREST THREAD* for Spideyfett/Evan4218 Machined Metal Ears

For the rangefinder, you will need a hollow one. I recommend terminal fettler's rangefinder. Just send him a private message asking him for a hollow ESB rangfinder.

Once you have all of the pieces, you are ready to set this up. But one word of caution before you proceed: Hyperdyne stuff is very fragile and delicate, so handle the equipment with care.

The LED board will have to be modified to fit into the rangefinder I never got a round to posting a tutorial on how I did this, but I did give this general description in a different thread:
- Cut the LEDs off the chip (make sure you know what end is + and what end is - before your do this.)
- Remove the battery springs.
- Solder wires onto where the battery springs were and run them down the hollow stalk.
- Solder wires onto the LEDs (make sure the wires are long enough to reach into the hollow area of the RF.) Then use electrical tape so that each lead does NOT touch another.
- Install the LEDS, run the wires you just soldered into the hollow area of the RF where the chip is, and carefully solder the wires where they are suppose to go.
- Run the wires for the batteries down the hollow stalk and into the helmet and hook them up to the batteries the there. You will need a battery holder (try to get one from Radioshack.)

Now to hook up the servo, check out this tutorial I posted:
Rigging a HD rangefinder servo to your helmet

NOTE: I use terminal fettler's stalk in that tutorial. I haven't yet figured out how to rig the servo to these new stalks as they haven't been released yet, but it should be a similar process.

And here is a bonus for you. If you want your gauntlet to control the servo like this:

I posted a tutorial on that one here:
Rigging a servo remote to your gauntlet.

Hope this is what you're looking for.
