Range Finder???

Hi guys,

I'm in the middle of creating my helmet and I'm using WOF templates and Antmans guide. He makes his range finder out of matboard, which wont really work if I connect a servo with it (I think). I think it would be kind of weak so I'm trying to find ways to either make it on my own using other materials, or just buying it (without breaking the bank). What should I do? Any suggestions to buy or build? Thanks!

Hit up darth voorhees or animefan. They both make nice rangefinders that won't break the bank.

I used grey board, it's still in perfect condition after over a year, if your are running it on servo it's nice and light and keeps the stress down on the servo box... bit of bondo to seal the range finder stalk up and it should do the trick....

I used Balsa wood from the local hobby store. easy to cut and sand into shape. finished it off with a clear finishing epoxy which gives it strength and seals it against marks and moisture. Balsa is a very light wood used in r/c airplanes.
