Rafal Works Helmet (RWH) v2 Helmet Templates and Build

Great work Raf, now you just need to paint one up and throw some lights in the topper then you will be good to go.

Thanks for these great tutorials and templates. I built BF and JF buckets for my twin 5 year old boys this past Halloween thanks to your work and others on here. I scaled them down to fit them. I'm thinking I may have to make one my size with a little more detail for this Halloween.

Hey Raf. What material would you recommend for more sturdy armour? Would like it to be able to stop a fair few bb pellets :)

I don't know what to say. Maybe some laminated pvc or metal armor.

Thanks a lot for the kind words! The kids looks great with those suits! If you will have problems with your future build, just let me know, and I'll try to help you as best I can.

Thanks to shdd for pointing me out a mistake on the right upper ear cap, more exactly on page 31 the length of the Base Connection and the Cover Piece had 44mm, so I corrected the length to 30mm. The 2 PDF files were updated, but because of the 24 attachment/post restriction you will find the templates at post #5.

Just wanted to pop in and say thank you for all your hard work and making these templates! It makes it a lot easier for people like me with no real artsy skills to get started :)

To anyone following this thread in the US. The paper he reccomended to use is 2mm thick but I've found this to be incredibly hard to manuver as I had to glue paper together to make the thickness. Any suggestions? What kind of paper are you using and where are you getting it? when i ended up with my 2mm of assembled sheets it just seems VERY thick. i live in Alaska. Also is everyone just using superglue?

The best chance for cardboard is an arts & crafts store. I had some 2mm thick cardboard from advertising signs/stands used in food stores, but you might get them in other type of stores too. You can also find binders with hardcovers (somewhere in the 2mm range), but the size is small (A4 or LTR format) for a helmet build, so you'll have to make some of the parts from 2-3-4 pieces.

so corrugated cardboard won't work?
sorry if im being annoying im just having an almost impossible time finding this kind of 2mm cardboard. gonna try using something substantially thinner since this is going to just be a peice to cast later

It's a bad choice and I wouldn't recommend it.

No problemo! You might try to sandwich 2 pieces of 1mm cardboard to achieve the same result.

Lol that's part of the issue. I had to sandwich 3 pieces to make 2mm and it bends funny and is super stiff.

I'm new to this and have been researching for weeks so I can make the best helmet possible. Actually i'm going to make multiple helmets using different methods. Anyways I was wondering if I could use cardstock to make this helmet? Does it have to be the 2 mm thickness? And also if I make the 2 mm thick cardboard version, can I fiberglass resin the helmet, will it have the same effects as it does on cardstcok with pepakura?
