Q? about years and helmets

Yeah, I've not heard of anything before 95. Except the cheesy Ben Cooper ones for kids... (thin plastic with the rubber band around your head). And those were silver with just the red visor, right? ghastly

I don't know of any licensed helmets that came out before the "95 DP." There were a couple fan produced helmets that made their way along the sci-fi convention scene though. Not sure what year they were made, but they are really nothing to gaga over.

Marco Enterprises made one, but it wasn't licensed.
