Post Production Helmet?

With so many beautifully painted helmets being done now...it seems that there is such an interest in the post production paint scheme. Is this a result of the MOM show or do members actually prefer it over the "movie accurate" ESB painted helmet? Please chime in with your thoughts on this topic;)

I think it has to do with the amount of referance pics available. Since the screen shots are much harder to get fine details from it is just eaiser to paint the MOM style.

Personally I prefer the screen style VS. the tour style.

I've painted a couple of ESB helmets with the MoM paintjob. Like Pred mentioned, there's a million times more images of it on display. It's harder to find good HD screen caps that match the level of detail of the exhibit photos.

But I think the next helmet I do for myself, I'm going to go "screen seen." It's just a matter of studying the screen caps, and subtracting some damage that occurred after filming.

That's what I was thinking...that the ref images from MOM are there and easy to work from. I also prefer the "cleaner" ESB paint, there is just sooo much more detail and time in doing the MOM version.
Thanx for the input...I am getting close to starting my third ESB helmet and was on the fence about which version to do;)
