Oh GOD, what have I done

Has anyone ever just been sitting down watching TV, when all of a sudden -(in a fit of God knows what)- they've got up and attacked their helmet with some wet/dry sandpaper coz deep down inside they were never really 100% happy with the colour scheme??

Coz that's exactly what just happened to me :wacko

Oh yes, several times! I think I repainted my DP Deluxe ESB helmet four times! Finally I went a completely different route, painted it up like a ROTJ and sold it on Ebay for a grand.:)

Steve.

Thanks heavens I'mnot the only one. My Missus nearly disowned me when I said what I'd done.

She gave me the "You're never going to be finished with that costume, are you" look.

Y'all know the one I mean ;)

I've done the whole sand everything down & start over so many times, that wonder how the heck I ever get anything done!!! I repainted my old 96 DP 4 or 5 times, each time I swore it was done, but redid it again anyway! Must have repainted my old MB armour 3 or 4 times as well. But you know what they say...practice makes perfect. BTW, my Missus says the same thing to me everytime I start over on somethin:) So I know how ya feel:)

That's exactly why I stopped myself...that and a sinking feeling that she might be right :/

I'll paint it again...someday. I know it!

I never painted my helmet (MSH) more than once. I was totally happy the first time around. Took me a MONTH to paint and weather it, though, but the paint's been on for 18 months now! :D The same holds true for every piece of my costume. I took my time (TOO much time, perhaps) and made sure that I "did it right" the first time so I wouldn't have to come back later and do it again (with a 2 year-old in the house, there's not much time to redo stuff!). :)

And, my wife has never given me "that look". She costumes too, and thank GOD she's JUST as into propping and costuming as *I* am!!! :cheers (they don't make 'em like THAT anymore, guys!)

yeah...but does she do windows??

annnnnnnnyway, got all geared up to start painting it, put the first layer of green on the "dome" and realised that I was completely out of Dullcote.

"Yeah...so what", I hear you say....well I realised this last Thursday night, and my local Hobby shop IS CLOSED FOR THE EASTER BREAK....ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH

Jeez,Bish..lol.........try painting ten lids at the same time..............I do,often..it's a testament to the strength of Aussie beer(Boag's Classic Bitter 500ml cans)that i got thru it..........and i have to do it again, and again..........my paint jobs are 14 coat(17 including the clearcoat)It's a lotta work..but...WORTH IT!!!!!!!!!!

Man! I am glad to hear that other's have done that, too! I repainted mine at least 8 times. And that d--mn scuff in front of the rangefinder on the dome...omg...It took me forever to get that one to look right. I repainted that one at least 15 times before I was happy with it. My wife (ex-wife now) used to refer to it as my "stupid boba fett costume". Oh well...at least I got custody of my kids.

Well I've got to say that I'm glad I took the plunge and did what I did.
The new paintjob is looking absolutely sensational, and I can honestly say that I'll probably never paint it again coz I'm that happy with it.
The previous paintjob just looked cheap and tacky, now it looks REAL
I'll get some pix done asap for y'all to have a look

Hey me too.. I stripped my DP Deluxe completely to repaint it ,I also have a DP96 wich I wanna fully customize as well, I'm contemplating on wich helmet I should use for my outfit.
