Wow! Those look really nice. Very tempting...
Their so beautiful...
GBH ... that is hilarious!
we should have the final set of all the pieces by wensday for pictures so stay tuned. Hopefully I will have more teasers between now and then.
Justin, something just came to mind: is the stalk actually screwed into the inner ear piece? If so, how difficult is it to move it up and down?
Ah I cant resist anymore, please add me to the list!!!!
It is bolted to the helmet. The hole that the screw passes through in the inner RF Earcap isnt threaded so by loosening the bolt you can easily move the stalk up and down or just have a servo head pass through that hole and into the stalk to allow it to move that way.
I will post measurements of those holes as soon as I can so you can know the size of that hole.
These earcaps will come with screws as well as a set of rare earth magnets. The outer earcap is held on with a with a rare earth magnet and is mounted using 2 stainless steel pegs. It scews into the helmet using 3 small screws.
Here's my interest post. I'm serious.
Please PM me. I'm still learning about Fett helmets and would love a recommendation of an ESB range finder that's not only compatable but will justify the stalk so I can get some power to whatever lighting system is in the recommended RF.
No PM's are being sent out just yet....that's mainly what the thread is for..., so we'll put you down CSMaclaren...Thanks
**And I want to reiterate that this is a really once and a life time kind of Run.....(at this cost anyway)
When we first looked into doing machined ears we got quotes for over 700$ PLUS just for ONE SET only..!!!
So as Justin said this is a heck of a deal to get a full set of Ears and a hollow aluminum stalk for 200$....
We should have a complete set (prototypes) by wednesday... and Pictures on the FPH by this weekend...
and yes these are 100% FP ears (designed by Fettpride for the new FPH), with a little help from some friends of coarse.
thanks everyone, those that have posted and pm'd so far....we'll keep you posted.
Man, I am soooo tempted to jump on this, but I missed the first run of the FPH. I know there's still some hope on the helmet front, so I'm really going back and forth on this. These look awesome so far!
I'm back and forth on these as well. Once the pics are posted I will probably lose control and fall to the yes side.
The ears have always been a area of my past suits that I never was happy with. Nice to FINALLY see metal ears that are reasonably priced
Welcome back Alex

It looks marvelous !!! But I will wait until you have pictures of the final product. Also I am very interested in the measurements. Maybe you saw I am building a scratchbuild bucket , so I need exact measurements to have a perfect looking helmet in total.
I am sure your ears will be the best in the world, there is no doubt!!
We should get new pics today and as soon as we do they will be posted. This weekend Spidey and I will go down and take pics of it on the helmet and get measurements for everyone.
Here is a small update... he is almost done with the left ear. Just has to cut the bottom. This is a better pic of the stalk now with a screw hole that is accurate and has the magnet and pegs in it.
We should have the complete set to show off by Saturday, and mounted up on the helmet......so far so good.
