New Hunter
Hey guys, Ive been a reader of this forum for quite a while but only just decided to finally sign up since I am ready to get started on my first build, so heres my question, I bought a boba fett helmet from ebay early on this year, the sellers name was gordy fett the helmet is supposed to have all the real deal scratches and such but I was wondering if any of you experts know how accurate this helmet is ? I ask only because I want to do this as well as I can the first time so if some of the battle damage isnt meant to be there I can bondo them before I begin painting, I think the horizontal section of the visor should have a wider taper as it reaches the vertical section, but I wanted to call on the experience of you guys before I do anything to it. The only pictures I have at the moment are from the auction as I dont have my camera with me at the moment. Thanks in advance :D

shamefully those pics wash out a lot of the detail, the piece is covered in lots of purposeful dents and scratches but they dont see to correspond to the accurate paint weathering on finished helmets to me, I will try get some pictures as soon as but my regular camera is broken at the moment and I dont know if my old one can take good enough pictures to show the detail. And yes I'm pretty sure it is a fan sculpt. I'll dig out my old camera and see if I can get some better pics up.
Thanks

looks beat up...not the damage on any of the helmets though not eactly lots of extra I would bondo everything and start fresh lol sorry

Ok well thanks for letting me know, lools like I was had, it was missing the cover plate for the RF stalk too, better get started on the filler then :/

Hmm very interesting. I think AFFO$ may just be right. The T area is very odd and it seems like the person who recast decided to build on it for some reason and give it harsh angles.

You're right, when I first looked at it I assumed the surface just hadnt been finished properly but when I looked again these recessed areas on either side of the T are symetrical on both sides of the visor and neatly curve up back to the original ends of the horizontal bar, I cant beleive I didn't see that before, he must have sloppily tried to alter the shape to make it less distinguishable from the original it was recast from. I'm sorry guys I had no idea this guy was a recaster. Is there anything we can do ? He sells a lot of star wars helmets and I wouldn't want others making my mistake.
