New Project - DP 95

Active Hunter
OK, so I went out to Hobby Lobby last night and bought the following things:

Krylon
Satin Black 2421
Satin Italian Olive 3522
Satin Burgundy 2425
Satin Hunter Green 2424
Gray Primer 1318
Original Chrome 1010
Matte 7121

As well as Winsor and Newton's Colourless Art masking Fluid. Now, I was a bit skeptical about the masking fluid. Needless to say, now, I am glad I read about it here. It does work wonders.

Now, bear in mind this is a fast job, just to kind of give myself a general idea of what the finished product would look like. I dremeled out the keyslots in the back and the side slot on the left earpiece. I also dremeled out the visor area. That was not fun.

So, here are the pics. I am going to attempt to make this a removable visor with screws. Again, forgive the webcam.

:) you got the hang of it... I might wanna try that "mustard" method...

you are going for a custom weathered look or are you gonna try screen accuracy?

I have just purchased a DP 95 and am waiting for it to come in the mail. Hopefully when I'm done it will look as good. This is kind of a stupid question, but which dremel bit did you use to cut everything?

A custom look. There is no way I could do screen accurate. As far as the dremel goes, it's a small round bit with teeth like a hand file. I used this to do all the dremeling. Took about ... 30 minutes or so. I will try to find a picture of this bit for you.

the bit is SOMETHING like this. My bit's teeth go down half way and the bit is all one size, NOT tapered. This was the closest I could find.
