New MR Fett Helmet Master

I am not sure I would call it a premium sculpt by any means but it is very nice. Even though it was created using realscan technology, there are limits to that technology and there were "corrections" made. It is still a VERY nice and VERY clean helmet but I would be hesitant to call it "premium."

First, if we are to assume for a moment that a helmet's lineage can be established through both direct casting and realscan:

No matter what you call it, I suspect the MR's lineage is at least comparable, if not better than the "mystery" cast. Not trying to be overly dramatic, but the mystery's dome is a huge disappointment to have gotten so close and then missed the mark. The dome alone is probably why so many folks sacrifice lineage for aesthetics and choose the MSH or another home brew. The mystery cast shows its origins partly, but its limits from its own "corrections," I think, will place it a distant second to the MR sculpt -- even considering the corrections made to the MR.

But I don't actually mind if we call it premium or not,  but I bet we can call it a hole in the wallet.

We are on the same side here. My only argument is that the MR is not the end all be all and that some tend to be of the impression that realscan means it is exactly like the original. Personally, I would take the MR over the mystery, but I don't think everyone will feel that way.

With all of this said, I think we both know where the end all / be all is. :)

Of course, don't get me wrong Brak's, I totally agree with you. I also totally agree that the technology isn't perfect. I just take way too many words to explain myself:lol:  We're on the same side -- and the same page here.

I found another picture:

I actually kinda like it....in terms of size and shape....

I like all the colors, except the gray on the mandibles:facepalm, maybe it's the lighting...but it looks too dark..it's almost the same as the gray on the helmet...which to me, is not the same hue/shade of gray...:facepalm
Other than that I like it...(y)

Wish I could see the back??:p

I think it might need a dulcoat... its a bit shiny. Also it might be the camera distortion but, to me at leat, it doesnt seem to have that "flare" that alot of the mystery buckets have. It also seems ot be lacking the wavy brow. Maybe I am crazy...

The wavy brow is not accurate for the ESB helmet ;) so this version is correct, if I'm not wrong, the wavy brow is due a break in the helmet, restored later...

I'm really dying to get this helmet... will be the treasure of the treasures :D:D:D (from my point of view, it only can be beaten by a REAL cast off original... and we all know that is "almost" impossible to get... only people like the one we know has it, and wont be now more... so, this is the very best we can get ;) .

I only desire MR release it soon... and I would also LOVE they can make it with the electronic like the original one !!!

I believe you are 100% correct in this assessment.

I would honestly want to see proof of that if available, I can't see that as being the reason for the wave. It'd be too smooth of a fix and if that were the case, wouldn't they have actually fixed the rest of the cracks in the helmet? I'm not trying to sound like a hole, but if there is proof supporting that, I will be the first to admit that I am wrong ;)

There is proof that SUGGESTS it. Let me see if I can find it. to give credit where it is due, I believe it was once again Tyler Durden (Mr ESB helmet lover) who first showed it to me.
