new member/ first time helmet modding

New Hunter
hey folks, my names edmon and im from oahu, hawaii.ive been reading up on the history of the helmets and other valuable info on here.a little confusing at first, but once you learn the slangs and stuff it got easier...so anyways, i just recently purchased a DP 95 helmet and it seems to be it pretty good shape. not much warping and no cracks. the only problems i see on it is the range finder holder (the silver piece that holds it in place) mustve broken off cause they used craft glue to it back on but its still loose, so the range finder would fall easily. looks like an easy fix on it. anyways, i just wanted some advice on my modding route...

first thing, i will try to reshape it and add a flare to the bottom part. i kinda get the idea. slide in some kind of metal ring in there to shape it...but what about the bottom half? if i cut the visor part all the way down,do i cut the ring also? wouldnt that limit the reinforcement of the ring? how will i keep the bottom part from warping? would applying a layer of fiberglass in the inside over the rings be a good idea? also, aside from flaring the helmet, repainting and changing the visor, what other mods are there to make it the DP helmet as close as possible to movie look/passable? thanks guys.

Welcome to TDH! I'm shure there are people who want to help you, but until you don't post some images with your helmet, it's kind of hard to say where to do what.

Welcome to the site and like Rafal said. . Until you actually post a picture no one is going to be able to help you with your modifications. I know one other members that use to live on Oahu but I haven't heard from him in a long while. He is an artist and a member of 501st He might be able to help you. if you. can find him. He goes by the username Rev920 . Good luck with your mods.

im not sure how big these pictures will come out...its from my iphone.
