The helmet looks great, very clean and detailed. I have been
contemplating on building one in the future. I would like to know how the dome was made for future ref. Keep up the
    goood work!

    Thanks

I may just be losing them in the background but the earpieces look to be a bit thin to me. Maybe if we could get some pics against a solid background. Still lookin good though. Keep the updates coming.

IMO, on the side profile shot, it looks like the lower jaw area towards the ear area is too low. Looking at the reference picture, the helmet progresses back in what appears to be a somewhat straight line. On this helmet, there is two separate lines: one from the visor area to the front of the ear area and one from the ear to the back of the helmet. So to correct this, the visor area would have to be lengthened or the ear areas shortened. Am I off my rocker? Did any one else see this? Other than that, it looks like a very nice helmet.

Believe it or not guys, even though the thing looks HUGE in the pictures, it's actually very close in size to the movie sized helmet. Little bit bigger, but, not that much.

For you bigger headed guys, it'll be a godsend!

If my earlier post did not make any sense, I have drawn the jawline to more closely match the picture. If this looks crazy, I'll shut up. Obviously, this would change other proportions, but not much. This looks like a killer helmet, but I did notice this one area.

Well, after I posted this, I do see that in one picture with the ears, the maker has this precise area penciled to be cut off. My bad! I do not know why, but that one area really bugged me.

E Vader, your point was brought up before and well, the picture doesn't show the helm well enough but the maker knows about it. No worries though and good catch dude!

    Stay safe.

Cool! I am a newbie here and I did not remember seeing this brought up in this thread. Once I posted the pic, I re-read the thread, and it was only then that I saw the pencil line on the helmet when the ears had been added. I was only trying to offer some constructive criticism. Anyway, the helmet is looking great and I am anxious to see the finished product.

Thanks very much for all the feedback guys!! And E.Vader, no worries mate!! Appreciate it all!

Guys, I'm sooo excited about this new helmet!! With all the latest refinements, that I still have yet to mention, like some trick rangefinder goodies...it will be without a doubt,
    a "Mighty Fine" helmet!

    More to come...

    take care all,

    -Rex

More pics, with the rangefinder, on a solid background. Ears are just taped on, so they may be not aligned perfectly.

Other than the ESB "squint", any other details, refinements you guys can think of? It's otherwise ready to go...

Oh, the caster wants to cast the keyholes seperately, to ensure a crisp casting. It will then be inserted into the helmet.

    Thanks,

    take care,

    -Rex

That is a really nice helmet. It looks strikingly similar to the Movie Size Helmet that's been all the rage? Did he use that as the base for his new sculpt?

Yah know, I was starting to wonder the very same thing. I mean this bucket has come a long way but it could also explain why it's larger than the MSH's and that the key slots are being done separately. Not to mention that there are actually quite a few things that are very identifiable as well. Bountys Hunted, how well do you know this maker??

Fettson, WPK, I know the maker and this is his first foray into the costuming/prop world. And incredible as it seems, this helm we're all excited about was scratch built with measurements taken off and converted using just the pictures.

And if you're wondering why it's so damm 'accurate', it's because the maker has professional experience scratch building custom 1/6 armor vechs. For the 1/6 collectors around, you might have seen his pricy work in various dioramas and web stores.

Hope this clears the question up.

    Stay safe.

So far, and I haven't read all the replies but...THIS IS THE PRODIGY SON!!! The size, the shape, everything's awesome!!! I agree with the cut to the bottom of the helmet, though. Keep this one updated, looking forward for the painted helmet pics. I can't wait!!!

Maybe I order one from him,...if he decides to make more and sell them.......only time will tell.

Why is everyone talking for this maker, is he not a member and if not he should be! I guess I am just fast to question something so good, don't really mean anything by it. But there are just certain areas on this "first time" helmet that are spot on with the MSHs that could not be found in pictures. I guess thats why I am questioning where some of these details came from. How exactly do you get accurate measurements from a picture?? Nobody knows how big anything is on the original helmet to use as a point of reference to take measurements. It's my understanding that the MSH Maker took laser measurements at an AOSW Exhibit. Although I know that even that is only so accurate, going through plexi and all, but measurements from paper just seems a bit much.
