NEW DP 95 WIP

Use microsoft publisher (assuming you have a pc and not a mac).. jpeg or gif format will make it heaps easier for the image, and all you have to do is go to rafs template page, click on the actual image provided (and not the pdf links), and right click and save it - Easy as m'man!

Hey Brian, they need to be saved in either jpg or gif format. If I have time tomorrow I can save all my templates off for you in that format so you can then resize them.

Alright- Was able to get the mandibles sized fairly close using publisher as jayvee suggested. Over the last couple days was able to get the silver layed, stenciled (2x as my thigh rubbed a portion off :wacko) and masked. I will lay down the grey tomorrow and am looking to have the trim and mandibles done by the weekend.

Moving forward- After applying the lark grey, I was able to mask and hit the maroon this evening! Here are some shots. Tomorrow I plan on stenciling/ masking the maroon which will leave me finishing the mandibles w/ the caboose hopefully by tomorrow evening:)...keep you posted.

wow , this is looking amazing, I was gonna start working on my dp95 today but it broke~ in half (fell off my display) /cry

Looking good bro can't wait to see it in person.. Keep up the good work and you will be moving on to a GMH before you know it.

Looking great mate, really nice work so far. I found to get the sharpest detail possible, even though more time consuming, its worth removing a vast majority of the liquid mask between each layer, to see how each layer is coming out, and for lining the next layer up. But looks terrific overall bud, keep the pics coming! :)

Thanks alot jayvee- Actually ive been studying both yours and deadlands threads quite a bit..your detail is amazing!!!(y) I may end up doing this on my next lid. Thanks for the input as it is always welcome! Thank you again.

Youre welcome mate, and I hope it didnt come across as a negative, it was just a comment on what I found through trial and error, and there certainly aint much to be negative about as your lid is looking lovely brother!

^^^ great advice on the ROTJ lids and the ESB lid Ive done I removed the masking in between...that way you can line up the details in between. But youve been doing a great job bro. Really need to get a couple lids so I can paint alot when I get home. This not having one to paint is frusterating. I have a ROTJ and ESB commission lined up but a personal helmet is alot more fun I think. Cause you can look at it when its done more than once. Your going to be very proud of yourself when its all done.

That was going to be my comment too but you're doing a great job masking on top of mask. Maybe try this out on the cheeks to see if you like it? You can always do one layer and then continue with your current approach.

Thanks so much guys (Jayvee, Fett4 real and apolifka)!!! Yes i may do this as theres a bit less stenciling. Right now Im having some issues w/ the sizing on the cheeks..a bit difficult to get the exact dimensions:facepalm. I have them fairly close so I may just stencil and adjust. I think the important thing is to get the damage to match up as far as dimension, then I can wriggle the piece to match..if that makes any sense:). Thanks again guys and Ill be moving forward tomorrow.
