MY TF HELMET LAYERED [Pic intense]

Hey brothers,

I just want to share my painting progress on my TF helmet.

That helmet is an outstanding piece of art, great in shape and absolutely perfect in detail. Terminal fettler, you did an impressive job bro!

So my part was the painting. I went the layered technique that TF himself is doing too and I am absolutely happy with the result. IMO it is by far the best technique ... but also time consuming ... ;)

I still need to do some subtle weathering and some minor scratches, the RF has to be sprayed black too (waiting for the color :() and the keyslots have to be cut out. Yes, I know, I should have done it earlier, but still missing the correct tool for this. Keyslots coming afterwards. :D

So here are the pictures of my holy grail and I hope you like it!

And here some comparison shots to TF´s own helmet he did a while ago:

More pictures of the ongoing weathering process will follow.

Feedback is welcome my fellow brothers! :cheers

Thanks for the kind words! (y)

And yes, I own a Vader too. But what you can see there in the 2nd picture is just the case of my screwer. :D

Danke für die Blumen Flo!

WOW! what a nice looking paint job! Did you use liquid masking? I didn't have much
luck with that stuff so I went topical.

Yes, I used liquid masking. I use a very fine brush to get it on the helmet, some areas are put on by a small rubber brush. The rubber brush has a very fine tip so you can add more detailed parts.

The masking fluid is drying very quickly and so I can airbrush the next layer very fast after I have put on all masking.

I love that rubbing off after each layer to see what it looks like ... just like xmas ... :D

Thanks for the kind words bro!

very well done, brother! i hope that when my bobamaker helmet gets here i can replicate that! totally impressed with the work you have done...(y)
