Did some wet-sanding of the Aquamend:

I made this ear "corner" parallel with the rim. I notice some people are instead making it level with the ground, so when you put the ear piece on it, the bevel of the earpiece -- which is parallel with the rim -- conflicts with this ear corner.

Currently I just did a rough Dremelling to this, but I will use Aquamend to build it up properly, then sand it properly.

I'm still working on the cheek corner to square it off. It may require some metal detailing files.

Any progress? Thanks ;)

Still trying to figure out the cheek corners. I'm very good with building structure and sculpting/shaping with Aquamend epoxy putty. If need be, I'll just create some holes and resculpt the corners, but I'm experimenting with files to see if this will achieve the desired effect.

Once I tidy up the ear corners, I think I might be ready for priming.

I'm making my own lens. I understand dark green to be the popular pick for some, but I prefer black.

Dark green is used for screen accuracy on the ESB helmet, and smoked black is for the ROTJ helmet. Of course you can use what you prefer, only true Fett geeks like us would know if it's screen accurate or not.

Doing great MacLaren! Also keep in mind that you will have to extend the ear out 1/16" in order to put a stalk in the helmet, the Mystery Helmets are a little lacking there unless you have a thinner Stalk, but since 90% of aluminum stalks are 1/4" thick, they just won't fit. I have full faith in you though, you're amazing at cleaning up props :)

Will you be sharpening out that dent? :):)
