My Fett helmets through the years...
I meant to do this a while ago, but I keep forgetting.
I did my first Fett helmet paintup in August 2005. So in just under 3 years I've painted 10 of these things! That wouldn't be bad if I was doing it for other people, but these are all mine. I need help! ;)
It's great looking back on them all and seeing the evolution.
On the RotJ side:
The first one. An eBay Mystery Helmet.

I sold this one here and it ended up on ebay soon after. The person that bought it painted an ESB catscratch onto it, which confused the heck out of me.
Number 2: MSH2. I'm actually really surprised at how well this one holds up over time:

I know this went to someone here, but I don't remember who :(
Number 3: MS3

This is also the only one that I did any sort of detailed progress pics on:
http://stormtrooperguy.com/bobafett/ms3.php
After this I never bothered. It would just be more of the same. Different paint and different helmets, but the style would be the same every time.
Icedevil has this one now.
Number 4: BradleyFett. This one is sort of in a class of its own, since it was made as a raffle prize, and more a vehicle for Jeremy Bulloch's signature than a piece of art unto itself:

This one was the grand prize in a 501st raffle. JB signed it for me at no charge, which is just another example of how awesome he is!
I did do some progress pics on this, but mostly just the assembly:

Number 5: Hand Shaubb. To this day, this is my favorite, only because the helmet was metal. There's so much you can do when you don't have to worry about scratching through to the material underneath. I was just beating this thing, and it looked awesome up close :)

This actually passed through a couple of hands. It was the trade that got me the MR that I hacked up :)
All that we have here is a green-tinted cameraphone pic of how shiny it was right out of the box:

Number 6: MR cast. This one was another rush job. About 24 hours start to finish. Aside from the visor color being slightly off, it's not a bad lid!
http://stormtrooperguy.com/gallery/a...01/mr-rotj.jpg
This is still in my room collecting dust. I should probably do something about that.
There's a monster thread here about the fixing/casting process and paintups of all of these, but the cleaner summary is here:
http://stormtrooperguy.com/bobafett/mr720.php
Number 7: MR cast. This one is my current helmet. The RF topper and ears are from the original MR that I trashed. I'm totally loving this one, and don't see myself replacing it any time soon.
http://stormtrooperguy.com/gallery/a...pdates_026.jpg
Then there are the strange little children.
Jango, which I don't actually even have any photos of. It's a converted MR cast. I'm actually really happy with the look of it, and will probably do another at some point. I used one of the warped Boba prototypes, just as a break from all the green.
ESB #1, MR cast.
http://stormtrooperguy.com/gallery/a...l__MG_6222.jpg
I never finished this 100%. It never got the stripes, visor or rangefinder. I'll leave its new owner to unveil it when it's actually finished.
I do have some in-process pics of this one:

ESB #2, MR cast.
For when I'm feeling SE:

This was a nightmare. The silver reacted badly, causing me to have to strip it all down to bare smoothcast roto and start all over again.
The sad photo tale is here:

Next on my list is a PP2 helmet!
Re: My Fett helmets through the years...
You know... what's funny is I knew about all these through the years and knew how crazed you had been but until you laid it out all in one thread I couldn't quite grasp the reality that is your disease. :lol :lol
Re: My Fett helmets through the years...
Sooooo. . . what's the problem here? I just see someone who's completely normal.
Nothing unusual to see here at all. ;)
Re: My Fett helmets through the years...
Well, if you're just itchin to paint, my corporate HQ is in Waltham....I can come up there to work a few days and bring my bucket. :fettesb
Though it should only take an hour or two from what I've seen of your posts. :)

hahaha. I was actually just looking at the half million or so paintups you've got on here!
Re: My Fett helmets through the years...
So how many total have you had? 9? Good grief, man. That is a lot of helmets that have been in you possession! :fettrotj :fettrotj :fettrotj :fettrotj :fettrotj :fettrotj :fettrotj :fettesb :fettesb
Re: My Fett helmets through the years...
Wow! Great work. You are one dedicated Fett fan :)
Re: My Fett helmets through the years...
That is awesome Brian. I'm going to have to do this or something like it with my TK buckets as well. (I have other buckets, but TKs have always been the most)
I think I've currently got:
2 FX
1 TE
1 MR LE
1 MR Shadow Trooper LE
1 A.N.H. v2
1 SGB Concept
and a few more on the way. I mean honestly... can you EVER protect your head too much???
Re: My Fett helmets through the years...
WOW! Sweet helmets man! I love your current redone MR :drool
Re: My Fett helmets through the years...
so did you make all these?
Re: My Fett helmets through the years...
or just buy a few and make a few?
Re: My Fett helmets through the years...
Jangofettismyhero; Did you read the posts? You are new here, welcome, but Stormtrooperguy clearly states who's helmet he painted. The first is a Mystery Helm from ebay. Second is Marrow Sun Helm 2 (aka MS2). Number three, is Marrow Sun 3. Fourth is from BradleyFett. Five is a special case, a full aluminum cast helmet from Hand Shaubb. Sweet, if you ask me. I'm into metal everyday.. The rest are Master Replica Helmets, or rather casts from 'fixed' MR ones.
Please correct me if I am wrong in any way. I don't want to lead a new guy into wrong conclusions.
Sweet work STG! I hope I can live up to your class some day..

Re: My Fett helmets through the years...
I like seeing the progression from early builds to your prized posession. Seems like you also went through many different media to get the similar products! Bravo!

Re: My Fett helmets through the years...
Awesome collection:thumbsup
Re: My Fett helmets through the years...
Stuff like this is an inspiration ^^ I got a mystery helmet last month. It's collecting dust on my shelf atm, but I'm going to start work on it after Thanksgiving (doing an MSE-6 droid at the moment and getting some parts for my R2 build as well).
Can't wait to start work on my helmet.
Re: My Fett helmets through the years...
These are awesome! they all look so real and are perfectly detailed, i especially like the metal one it gives it a battle worn look!
