My Fett Family Portrait--Updated July 2011 :)

Hi all,
Just a goofy thread to show my (growing) family of Fett helmets. :)
I'm hoping to add to the collection, but here's what I have so far.

From left to right, Skygunbro's excellent McQuarrie Concept Fett. Sculpted from a sketch by Mr. Ralph McQuarrie, Jason created a 3-D representation of one of the earliest designs of our favorite Mandolorian bounty hunter.
Where would Star Wars be without Mr. McQ's work, I wonder?

In the center is TerminalFettler's fan made helmet painted in a Pre-Production 3 paint scheme. This is extraordinarily close to the familiar ESB paint, with some subtle differences. Many of the PP3's characteristics were incorporated into Master Replicas' LE/SE Fett helmet. Garrett did a terrific job with his sculpt and casting!

On the right side is my personal favorite paint scheme, the FettPride "FPH" bucket, painted in all its Empire Strikes Back glory. :D I first fell in love with this paint job while looking at pictures of Steve the Swede's masterpiece displayed on the Star Wars Helmets website. If you've never seen Jez's site, do yourself a huge favor and check it out right now! http://www.starwarshelmets.com.
That's when I truly got into Fett, and first started seriously checking out TDH. (y) Anyone familiar with Chris's work knows the quality and hard work he put into these kits.

I'm hoping to add a Pre-Pro 1 (Eyes) version to my collection later this summer, too.
Thanks for looking!

Hey, I'm really sorry to necrobump this thread but I was wondering if there is any way to acquire one of those McQuarrie Concept Helmets (far left) these days??? Have a concept that I want to try out, and I need one of those buckets!

Great thread to dig up though!! I always enjoy seeing Eric's stuff since it's all painted by him. Now, when will we be seeing that ROTJ bucket in the mix.....? :)

I need to take a couple of new shots for this thread. Since there are 2 more helmets in the collection now.

Like I posted a few days ago, I went ahead and got some new shots of all my boys.
Man, it was hard to get them to stand still long enough to get a good picture!
But I finally got them to settle down and lined 'em up in the living room for a portrait.

I've arranged them in "chronological" order, even though the pre-pros may have been painted concurrently with some of the screen used buckets, or may have been painted out of sequence as we think of them (PP1, PP2, PP3).

Here's another with call outs of the styles and makers.

A few closer shots, showing the helmets in groups of three.

As of now of course, the GMH is unfinished. Waiting on the metal ear set and a visor.

I'm on the list to get a Skygunbro McQuarrie version 2, and once I receive that one, the only helmet remaining will be ROTJ! I've always been intimidated by that paint job, but working on the PP2 has given me some experience with new techniques, so at some point toward the end of this year, I'll be looking for a new helmet to paint as my Jedi bucket. Then my "Fett Evolution" will be complete! :)
Thanks for looking. (y)

Yes, I second that you need a supertrooper! Really, that is a beautiful collection. Your paint work is just spot on!

Does anyone else even come close to owning as many versions?

Hmm. . . I hadn't thought of doing a Supertrooper or a Sandy. I will have to consider the math involved:

5 helmets + (McQ v.2 + ROTJ) = Big Collection

5 helmets + (McQ v.2 + ROTJ + Supertrooper + Sandy helmet) = Wife calls men in white coats to take me away to a nice padded room.

I don't think there's anyone else who has a helmet collection like this, especially painted by the owner.

Not till next year ;)
rebuilding my collection, superjedi was my inspiration, been wanting that MQ fett helmet the SGB has been working on and the V1 as well on top of my fang PP1 eyes and my GMHs

Now I'm not so sorry I unearthed this thread ;) That's a gorgeous collection you've got there! I'm not a member at the RPF so I hope a McQuarrie helmet pops up for sale on these boards sometime soon :)
