Hey TDHʻers

Finally got my helmet in the mail today. Its hand laid fiberglass with a gel coat exterior, sanded and sprayed with grey primer, ready to paint. It came with a resin rangefinder, resin RF head, with resin ledʻs. I got this helmet off of empireprop on ebay. When i first looked at it, my thoughts was its to big for me. What do you guys think? But hopefully Itʻll proportion out when im wearing it with my armor, suit, jetpack, etc. I plan on either airbrushing it or shooting it with spray cans. Any questions/concerns or thoughts on it?

Hmm, not sure if it's just the pictures, but the dome looks a little odd shape wise - very square looking. Looks like some sort of casting from a Don Post helmet, but there would be others better suited to confirming the origins.. The other thing that you may want to look at correcting, is the actual thickness of the visor wall - seems a little on the thick side. There are some other odds and ends like the ears looking a little narrow, and the lower cheeks bowing a tad, but overall, you could likely do far worse from 'the Bay'.. Good luck my friend, look forward to the paint updates! :)

Yeah its square ish look on the top is something that i noticed to. I'm very worried now. This might not turn out the best. Specially since im not a painter or crafter.

Don't stress too much bud - at the end of the day, you still have a nice clean 'canvas' to paint, so enjoy it, and if you get the bug, you can always get another lid, and do another paint up, taking what you learn and perfecting it! Have fun with it brother!
