    As I and others have mentioned, the perception of the ESB helmet having exaggerated flare is somewhat of a myth cultivated by film/lens distortion and low-angle photography.

    I agree. I used to have pics of my mystery helmet, taken in positions that mimicked that ESB scene. The flare was consistent.

    I have to be honest, I am a Darth Vader fan. But I think this helmet will work. Obviously, this is not the finished prop...we hope. I am by no means a Fett expert, but the MR helmet does look pretty good! I do have a question though...did the actual helmet have such a dull looking paint job?

    Barring any unforseen problems with MR, this helmet will ROCK!!

    dull as in not-glossy? pretty much, yeah, it did.

    ooh a vacuum formed bucket possibly? that should be pretty light

    Will be interesting to see how they handle the details on the vacced helmets and also the seamline. But, yeah, if they can nail it, might be a nice alternative for some costumers.
