Right yaeh so its the mould for the don post 95 witch was the beter of the plastic versions i guess you can see y they used a fexibl vynal for the construction that would shrink when dryed youd have trouble getting any thing else out , you should make a rubber buck then make a sillicon mould of that then pull afew to see how they come out.

I don't know that going into production would be all that worthwhile. In the end, the DP95, while the best of that line, is still undersized and not particularly accurate. By modern Fett-costumer standards it's not a highly sought after bucket. They do well with smaller people wanting a helmet that fits better, but for a "full sized" Fett they are too small.

That looks like a cool bit of history, but I honestly don't see a production run doing all that well.

I think what I will do is, Pull a new mold out of it and see how that comes out. I have put the mould on, just to see how it would fit. Now I have a large head and it seemed big to me.
I need to do more looking and see how I can find out the sizes and see if the Mould that I have is a good Mould or if I should just ebay it. Any thoughts?

It's the Don Post 95 mold... says so right in the imprints.

The DP95 is smaller than the DP Deluxe.

Here are some shots from TK409.com of a DP Deluxe compared to a Mystery Helmet, something that is generally close to accurate:

And here is a DP95 compared to the Deluxe:

So, as you can see... much smaller than the original.

Has anyone ever gotten true Measurements on both helmets? I would like to compare and see if anything can be done to the mould I have now. At this point I would like
to work with the mould that I have and see if it could be done. Any Thoughts...

Chris has measurements of the mystery helmet:

I've never seen anyone do it off of a DP 95. That could be because the size issue is pretty striking, so there hasn't been a need for that sort of precision. These are popular with small folk that get lost in a movie size helmet, but even at 5 foot 9 that would be too small for me.

The fact that the mold is metal makes me think that it may be a bettr size , now this is only a theory but bare with me on this , i think the mold is for the with vynl version hench the tm stap so it cuold have been made using somthing like lees plug coz its metal u could not remove the buck so you would put it in a ciln and turn the buk to ash leaving the metal mold empty then they use a ruber for there product that shinks once it has dryed in the mold leaving it easly removed , so if you were to pull a cast made from sillicon thick enough to keep its shape once removed but flexible enuf to pull out you compare with one of the more resent correct sized lids , could be worth while also can you get a mesuring tape and give us mesurments of the gith and bretth thatwould be the easy way of seeing if my theory is corect.
And take mesurment from around the out side of the mold if the whole thing is under size u could almost make a sillicon mold of the out side pull a cast clean it up then cast that i know its a lot of work but
also the inside looks pretty good its got all the bits in the right place bits that the plastic dons dont

I think your right, I will do this for my next project. would it be ok with you if I contact you for help if I run into anything strange. This would be the first time to do a Silicon project. I will keep in touch with you while I do this. and Post pics after the fact. Also will update you on the sizes and see how close we come to the Deluxe don. Thanks again for all your help.
