Mini Boba Helmet sculpt (1/2 Scale)

Hey guys, I made this thread to see if there is any interest in me sculpting a sorta mini helmet based on the esb. It will be slush cast in resin and be $35 a copy shipping included. Just making this thread to see if there is enough interest for me to make copys for some people. Ill post up progress in here, since I am doing this for myself anyways. I have been working on a secret project that I will post in the Jango Forums eventually ;)

So who would possibly be interested. This would be an unlimited run, meaning it would go on as long as my molds are intact.

Edit- This is a preliminary list, if you are interested, please, do not hesitate to tell me, you are not going to be in a binding contract with me haha. It is just to see how much "casual" interest there is.

Well, I will have two options, Finished or unfinished. Finished is basically everything assembled, and painted, unfinished would be everything separate and unpainted. Since this is a smaller piece, The painted option would have a higher price, but the unnassembled, unpainted it would stick to $35 a piece. It will have a moveable rangefinder, and hollow slush cast. I might even cold cast these to make it easier to paint.

When you say 'mini,' how big would it be? 1/2 scale? Smaller? Just wondering.

Well, Since I do not know the exact size of the real screen used, I would say that it is close to 1/2 scale from just assumptions. However, I will post up pictures when I am done sculpting it and will compare it to my BM that will come in a few weeks for sizing comparisons.

Since these pics were taken, the shape has been refined, key slots added, and it has been smoothed out a little.

Rats, was going to say if this was wearable I would get one for my 3 year old. He is more of a Fett fanatic than about 90% of the people on the board

Looks a little too small for even him I am afraid. Great start on the sculpt though :cheers

Bubba, I actually have plans on making a cheaper kids helmet. Just so all the younger kids under like 8 or 9 wont look like bobbleheads, even with the DPs. I have a pretty big list of Fett items to make. And by cheaper I dont mean the quality, I mean the price. Depending on the fiberglass, gelcoat, resin costs, and labor involved, it will be close to about $90 each, unless you guys change my mind.

The kids helmet would have to have a pretty big interest list, because going through the moldmaking process for one person wouldnt be too efficient, know what I mean? So if there are at least 10-15 people interested then I will go ahead with the sculpting and molding.

"Secret" Jango Project
Mini Boba Helmet
Kids size Helmet
Boba Lawn Gnome ( Ill be making this for myself, unless, there is enough interest in one.

So far, this sculpt is close to done. I might get the silicon in a few weeks to finish this up. And finish up my Jango Project.

I am tempted to add a neck seal to this sculpt for looks, what do you guys think?

Boba Lawn Gnome

:lol:lol::lol:lol:

Like the idea of the kids helmet. The DP's are hard to get and then redo, and even when my kid was 9 he looked like a bobble head in it. I am awaiting news of this with baited breath.

No really, my wife tells always tells me my breath smells like dead fish

Lol! I love the smell of dead fish, I work with it all the time. Well maybe not dead fish but the fresh smell of sea and residents always wakes me up.

A kids' size helmet would need to be somewhere in the range of about 85% scale. Kids are shaped funny - little body, big head. Even a kid who is half your height will have a head about 85 - 87 % your head size - ish. A helmet the size of the one above would be great for a "mini bust" sort of thing.

By the way, the sculpt is looking good so far.

Boba Lawn Gnome ( Ill be making this for myself, unless, there is enough interest in it.

Count me in for a Lawn Gnome (Price Pending)
Is ther any chance the base will be a pile of Ewoks :lol:lol:

Do you think this mini helmet might fit those stuffed Big Heads? I have been thinking about making Mini Plates for my Boba. It will be the first stuffed toy my child ever recives (Pending Wife) :lol:lol:

Lol that lawn gnome will wait until this is molded up

New update video. Ready for molding as well. Dont have any money for silicon so I will have to wait a while for it. But it shouldnt take more than a week or so.

COUNT ME INTERESTED, I will take 1, and I am also interested in the $90 kid size if you get enough interest. PM me when ready for payments, will subscribe to this thread. OOPS almost forgot, lawn Gnome DEFINATELY, my fine fellow San Diegian.
1 more edit....Late happy B-Day.

Alrighty then..
