Master replicas???

Just wondering, does anybody on here own the master replicas boba fett????

Forgive me, but isnt that a rip off??? $600 for a replica helmet that I am seeing sell for $100?

Anybody own the MR version???

The MR Boba Fett helmet isn't scheduled to ship till November.
The list price, for a completely finished, wearable, lined fiberglass helmet with working rangefinder electronics, is quite reasonable. (y)
Let alone the fact that the shape was scanned from an actual production-used helmet in the Lucasfilm Archives, and that this product is licensed by LFL as well.

The window for delivery is very, very, very, very, close to the lapse in the MR license with Star Wars. The price is huge for a helmet that needs further weathering too. They have done this before... I remember the clone helmets being delayed 3 times (maybe more) by MR. Vendors were pre-selling them in April of 2005, but they did not get released until a little over a year ago. Ouch.

The helmet is very impressive in person.

BTW, the LE is $450 not $600 and you're probably not going to find an accurate helmet painted like that with working lights, etc all finished for $450. If you think you'll find anything like that for $100 you're kidding yourself.

Um, yes, I make the helmets and armor very close to what was in the movies. Just as good as anything else floating around. All in all, they run just under $200 for replica helmets. I also get sick of the same helmet over and over, Joel Johnstons 1977-1978 design has room for massive improvement, so I also make costume helmets, close to fetts, but a lil better imho.

pm me if you want one. Unpainted, they run $50. So yeah, I kinda found em already, I make em.

But even $450 is a lot to pay, but not if your that die hard collector who needs it for the ultamite collection, but if you want one to wear, bad purchase. imho

Oh yeah, does anybody know why lucasfilm pulled the MR deal??

Yes, I too am interested in an unpainted one pending pictures building materials.

I'm sorry but I have to defend of the MRH...its really a thing of beauty, I have seen it..tried it on and have felt the heff of this helmet :love Its true, if you want to buy a fan made helmet or one of those crappy knock offs (recasters:angry) you are going to get a better price than the MRH. And judging from MR's past fiber glass helmets MR has developed a decent track record and well worth the price IMO (y) It's not until they are no longer produced that the value of these helmets will be missed. And let me add one more thing here, the paint job on the Fett helmet is better than many of the helmets that I have seen posted here on this forum and else where. There are artisians here that do a wonderful job but you are going to pay a price for their masterworks. Don't get me wrong, I am not bashing fan made stuff but its nice to get some "official" wears once in a while that make the grade too ;) So if you want something less than movie accurate and cheaper (you always get what you pay for) by all means go for it...its your money!

Improvement on the original helmet? I believe most people here are interested in replicating the originals as exact as possible.

I'd like to see a picture of a completed painted helmet with working rangefinder and padding that you sell.

Yes indeed, I would love a MR helmet. Especially if I could afford it, guys, please keep the MR in there packaging, in about 20 years, there gonna be worth more then your education.

But for me and most, $450 is too much for a costume piece.

And yes, I do sell the replica helmets, not just the custom versions.

Yes, I will definately post photos of the helmet within a week, or at least have everything up on http://mandalorian-manor.tripod.com/ by the second week of october.

But yes, unless your A die hard collector. Really, nobody will care if you spent $300+ more on a bucket helmet then one that looks exactly the same for a much cheaper price just because it has a lucasfilm stamp on it.

But yes, look for photos under the mandalorian manor thread mid oct.

I am waiting to thread the website till everything is up and running.

Also, I will have a video section on the website so everyone can see the props in use and how they are.

P.S. As for the materials, no, not fiberglass, but a durable styrene plastic. If you look at the website link, or my avatar, those are the custom style helmets that go for $100 down. And that's painted.

I actually don't care about a Lucasfilm stamp. If you can produce a durable helmet with an accurate Boba paint job and working electronics for $200 I'll be all over it.

Pretty accurate. It was scanned off a real helmet and the template paint job was painted by one of the best Boba painters out there. It won't match an individually painted helmet by some people on this board, but for a mass produced item its really quite nice.

I respect your quest to produce and sell a costum helmets at a affordable cost.
I have some questions for you...
How many helmets do you plan to build at once? What is the turn a round rate from the time the order is made and sent to me?
I assume this is a pay up front purchase?
How are purchases to be made?Is there a warranty with it or gaurntee of quality?
What carrier will be used in shipping the helmet?
Are these unpainted?or is there a price difference between painted and unpianted?
Is there a Jango model?

I am sorry to be forward but you might have a sell here and these are just some question I have.
A complete mandalorian helmet for $100,now I might be able to work that in the budget:D

More pictures... less talk.... :rolleyes

i think that's the key right there... many (most?) of the people on this board aren't interested in improving on boba and jango... they want them exactly accurate.

so the MR, being digitally scanned from the original, is the closest we're likely to ever get to "accurate"

that's like taking a stormtrooper helmet and making it symmetrical. yeah, it would look better aesthetically, but it's no longer the same thing as what's seen on screen.

all that being said, i'd LOVE to see a well made $50 styrene helmet out there that can match up to the quality of the fiberglass ones we're used to! i can't wait to see the pics!

yeah I'd love to see some pics of your helmets also loveless. working at $7 an hour puts you on a budget ya know:lol: i saw your "project z" page on your website and DANG! I would've LOVED to have some armor like that at his age. one lucky kid!
