    Oct 25, 2005, 1:55 PM - looking for a helmet... #1

What do you guys think of the bobamaker helmet? http://www.bobamaker.co.uk/Helmet_Deluxe.html

I am thinking of starting a costume and am wondering what is the easiest place to start...i.e. the helmet, jumpsuit etc...

BM makes some quality stuff, Ive grabbed a few things from Daz myself.

as far as a starting point, the helmet is the thing people notice first and needs to look top notch .You could have a killer costume and a crappy helmet, to me that blows it( my opinion anyways ) , so Id go that route. you might want to look on Ebay as well, there are always folks putting up nice buckets painted or in kit form.

there's alot of GR8 folks here thall help as well.

Good luck & welcome to the maaaaadnesssss

I have lots of BM studd, just waiting on that helmet to get in. But what Boba do you want to do? ESB,ROTJ,ANH,MOM,AOSW, or one of the other ones that I cant name right now.

shortimer you said "I have lots of BM studd" Im a newbie and it will show with every post you read of mine...but what does that mean?

You asked what Boba do I want to do, I am thinking of creating my own style of the mandalorian armor. I kind of dont want to do another Boba costume...Maybe create my own character with a different color theme. I have seen it on this forum where there are pics of different colored fett costumes. Thats what I want to do. I think I am going to do a very dark red or marooon color for the flight suit and helmet. I want it dark but not black...

I guess I need a helmet to start off then, but what is a good one on ebay to start with?

Anyway thanks for welcoming me into this "madness" It just sounds like a vey fun hobby for me...

i would definitly go with the DP 95 over that first one. it has a lot of the work done for you and you d just have to re paint it whatever colors you choose. the other one doesnt look that good, has one picture, and hardly a description at all. chances are its not a very good .

the first one is a bit scary looking. the dp 95 is supposed to be great, but i have no presonal familiarity with it.

if you're going for a custom, you might want to find an unpainted helmet - why pay for the paint job if you're going to re-do it?
