Great kit! The hardest part is starting because the parts are so good you don't want to mess them up.

Did you have to order the interior kit seperate, or did it come with it?

dang looking at the pictures made me realize i need to vacuum more...lol
interior about 85% finished, just a few touch ups and some light weathering then it will be ready to install

still need to finish the top cap thingamajig then ill start on the helmet itself. im kinda nervous about it, dont want to mess up. ive been laying off the sodas and coffee so hopefully ill have steady hands when its time to start cutting ill try to post as i go.

o.k. no pictures as of yet. cut the visor and key slots out today put the rf on the stalk. gonna putty them and sand tomorrow snap everything on before i sand and prime. too tired to do anything else (got up at 4am, got to work at 445am got off at 430pm) maybe after a nap ill start on the putty, but who am i kidding once i lay down im gonna be out till at least 7 a.m.

got everything slapped together with some bondo. sanded it all down, test fit everything, washed and dried, primed and a few layers of chrome. after that a couple of layers of clear coat. now heres the tragedy i had today. my work table/spray booth is my old grill (not the smartest of choices ive made i know). had my MS3 sitting up there looking pretty, snapped a few shots, nice gust of wind came by and yep you guessed it blew the helmet off. before anybody gets sick let me say that with my cat-like reflexes i was able to catch the helmet before it hit the ground. but i cant say the same for the camera. now for some good news. the camera is still under warranty for another two months (guess i timed it just right). ran the camera right to the shop so they could fix it, should get it back in a few days. so until then i wont have any pictures.

Congratulations on the bucket, man. MS's Helmet interior's rock! By the way, have you attached the 'ears' to the helmet yet? The only reason I'm asking is because the lower RF earpiece is upside down in your first pics.

nah, havent put em on yet, thanks, but that was the only way it would stay on long enough for me to snap a picture. right after it fell. but thanks for the heads up anyways

o.k. so heres where we stand; camera is FUBAR, but i get a replacement,so thats cool. taped up and masked off diffrent parts of my helmet today and slapped on some green. looks much better now than being all chrome (although looking at all that chrome is making me want to do a jango next ). hopefully ill be able to pick up my new camera tomorrow and snap a few pics before work. i could take a few shots with my phone, but we all know how those turn out . might get up a little early tomorrow slap on somemore paint before getting the camera. but we will have to see about that, getting up early is just not my thing.

well i got up a little early and slapped some dk green on the cheeks and then i went to get my new camera. sweet, just like my old one, just a diffrent model. enough about all that on to the pics.

keep in mind its still covered with the masking fluid, tape pulled some off but not much.

not too happy with the way the green on the back turned out. gonna get some lighter green on the way to work today.

the green cap was much lighter but after it dried it looks almost as dark as the cheeks.
still need to weather these and make them look "rustyish"

well this is where i stand as off now. time to get ready for work. hmmm i wonder what the owner would say if i was to work on my helmet in the rear kitchen. ah ill just wait till i get home from work.

went to the store before work. picked up a lighter green. all i have to do now is retape and remask in a couple of spots oh and repaint. hopefully it will be a brighter green.

well i just got done putting on somemore tape, everything is covered had just enough masking fluid to cover up what the tape pulled off today. hopefully ill be able to slap on some paint in the morning. i think i have another bottle of masking fluid somewhere around here, if so i might start masking off the "teeth" before work. maybe by tuesday ill be able to put down the cans and pick up a brush or two and start making this puppy look well used.

this is the 2nd coat and im happy with the way it turned out. im gonna let it dry while im at work, peel off the tape and retape tonight to paint the red tomorrow (hopefully, gotta work kinda early, not sure if ill have enough time to paint in the morning).

couldnt wait, so i peeled the tape off to see what it would look like


now i must get ready for work, im still thinking about working on my bucket in the back kitchen, if the paint fumes wouldnt float through the whole place i would i can see it now, sir my chicken has green, red, and sliver flakes all over it. (me) yeah its a new blend of spices, enjoy! of course im only kidding, i wouldnt paint anything at work. but i will cut and glue while im there, did my knees that way

a little over spray here a little underspray there, ill just have to make those my weathering spots anyways just taped everything up gonna mask it off and paint the red when i wake up (if its early enough). just a little update

o.k. woke up this morning and slapped on some masking fluid (glad i found that other bottle). slapped on a few burst of red, went back about 20 mins. later and finished it up. just peeled off the tape and heres where we stand



after work tonight ill prob. take off all the masking fluid and start with the brushes.enjoy

no updates yet... about to take a power nap (had to open today, so that means ive been up since 4a.m.) plan on slappin on some greys tonight, might even start to weather it up a bit. its a bit too bright lol. started my vacation today at 3, im off for the next 8 days. ill be working hard on ol'boba

thanks guys. no pictures yet just slapped on some light grey and some dark grey in diffrent areas. i gotta go get some more paints for the earcaps. and hopefully put them on sometime today. the mailman (if it would had been a lady should i call her the femalewoman "maleman"??) had a great package for me today a girth belt and cape (thanks double d). maybe ill lay it all together and snap a quick pic to see what all i have so far.

started on earcaps. need to tweek them just abit before i put them on. thinking of doing the magnet thing in case i ever want to upgrade the rf and stak maybe add a servo. who knows. i didnt work on my helmet at all today. just sat on my fat butt and flipped through the channels and took a nap lol. i have an interview in the a.m. might get some magnets while im out. hopefully ill post pictures soon

went for a job interview this morning and they put me to work right away (mind you im on vacation from my other job ). same pay much better hours instead of going in at noon at getting off at 930-10 everynight ill go in around 6,7 or 8 and get off by 2or 3 at the very latest ill get off by 4 they said that has only happend twice. now i have to work tomorrow and when i get off im going by my other job to turn in my two weeks notice. no more closing at 10pm on sundays and having to be back at 430am on mondays for me. plus it gives me more "daylight" to work on my fett. something about working on fett after 10 p.m. just dont feel right . thats just a little update of where i stand as of now. wanted to work on my helmet today but i had other things to take care of first.maybe tomorrow afternoon

got home from work today and started drilling, sanding, slapping on some epoxy, etc etc. o.k. first off let me say i have a bad habit of blowing the dust after sanding, im sure most people do this as well. now dont do what i did, drilled a hole in the earcap part of the helmet, sanded the inside to make it all nice and smooth. without thinking blew the dust, yeah it just followed the curve of the inside of the helmet and found its way to my eyes. thats not the bad part, the bad part is i did it twice dee dee dee. so far ive put on the long ear cap and the lower earcap on the other side (rightside up affo$ ) no pics as of yet. but soon. kinda want to get the whole thing together first, but right before i weather it.

o.k. slapped on the top inside earcap of the rf this morning after i get back from playing golf ill install the rf. i need to find some small magnets while im out today everywhere ive been has had big ones. the smallest ive seen is like 1/2". if not oh well no big deal. well heres a sample of what ive done so far

added RF over the weekend, got my visor in the mail today. computer crashed having to use cell phone. more updates as computer comes in. hopefully in a few days

no comp. yet, im working on the visor now, after a few more "spots" ill move on to the interior kit.

thanks guys!! no computer yet, it wont get shipped out until the 27th. this one is crashing bad. lost alot of stuff on here, games, programs. had a heck of a time trying to find a way to get onto the internet. i dont know why, but the comp. started crashing and for some reason i didnt take pics of my progress. i guess i thought maybe the camera didnt work. anyways ive got the visor in. started on the interior kit, well one part at a time. but hey theres no rush on this right?

ugh, no progress yet. been going to work between 8-10 am and staying until 1030-11. hopefully ill have something for ya'll thanksgiving day. hopefully ill have another piece of the interior kit installed by then too... who knows.

havent had time at all to do anything to my helmet, not sure when ill get around to work on it. spent all day thanksgiving with my family. i hope i can get some time to at least finish the inteiror kit and maybe throw on some killstripes. id love to have it done by christmas, but i doubt it. all i know is that im dog tired, dont wanna try to work on my helmet when im this tired. i hate to mess it up. hopefully soon ill have some pictures for yall.

i get home fom work and decide to snap off a few pictures of what i got so far...


i have two parts of the interior kit in now, put on the helmet and my nose is smashed to the visor. kinda sucks cause i wanted to have it in there, but its not gonna fit with my noggin in there too that just means ill have to buy another helmet and set it on the shelf with the interior kit in it.

work sucks...no time to work on my boba...maybe after i get all these new people trained up i can take some time off (at least ONE day). all this week ive been going in around 9a and getting off around 1020p. wouldnt be so bad if i was still hourly, would love that overtime check. ive been working like 90 hours a week so thats like 50 hours overtime a week. dadgum salary. when i was hourly i only got 20 hours overtime a week. oh well the pay increase was worth it. enough babbling back to boba. if (not when) i get some free time im gonna add some kill stripes and weather it up a bit. not sure what im gonna do, maybe a mix of brown wash followed by a black wash with a"toothbrush flick" of sand/tan all around. not too sure. keep in mind im not going for a ESB or ROTJ. im going for how i remember seeing boba as a young kid. anyways i hear the bed calling my name. hopefully ill have some updated pictures in a few weeks for yall

hey tusk, thanks. im a kitchen manager, right now i have two cooks who know what they are doing, my breakfast cook and me. i have no prep cook (as of yet) and 5 new people im training. so all in all it will get better as these people get trained up then i wont have to go in as much. ive had 13 people apply this week alone, but only kept two. my interview is simple; if you say you can make a hand tossed pizza, i pull out a dough ball, if you cant strech it, you dont pass. if you say you can make a veal marsala, i let you. if you mess up you dont pass. better to see what you can do before i hire them than get them on the payroll and have to let em go. and the salary im making now is worth it. i showed the new owners one of my old pay stubs, they said this is what you get every two weeks. i was like yep. they said we'll give you that every week. so it isnt soo bad. and after we "reopen under new ownership" (sometime after chirstmas) im supposed to get another raise.so it will all work out in the long run. then hopefully ill have more time for my boba...lol

o.k. call me a bum but i slept most of today away woke up started taping the killstripes. got to be a pain so i printed some up (i think they are a tad too small) but im gonna run with em. slapped on some masking fluid, some orange, and misted over them with a red. kinda letting them dry a bit hopefully ill have some pictures tonight. but who knows

small update. havent done anything. call me a bum. its cool. working on a major project thats been two years in the works (getting my drivers licence back). as of today..err..umm..yesterday i have two steps to go. so right now the helmet is on hold. hopefully i will pick it back up in Jan. and add a few touches to it and be done.i should be up and driving again by the first weekend of Jan. then i can work on the rest of my fett, if i get time off from work. i fired all but 3 people. gotta start over and ive had 3 days off since the new owners took over, thanksgiving-we closed a day to remodel-and christmas day. hopefully i will get some good people soon and will be able to take a day or two off a week and work on fett. but i dont see it anytime soon, wish me luck

thanks sniffer!! i had sunday off, didnt work on boba, went and played golf instead. shot a 430 and that was on the front 9. anyways i was reading some of my older post. i have "the boba bug" when im mad cause i have to work and dont have time to work on boba. i wonder if they make a pill for that. worked today and it was really sorry!! had to open which was at 6am so i had to be there at 5am. then we had a new years lunch: collard greens, black eyed peas, rice, and cornbread all for $.99. (if you wanna add a porkchop its 5.45) starting at 11 the orders started rolling in and they where getting two/three plates a person. around 2 it started to slow down a bit, but it picked back up around 4 and lasted till about 8. after that i was dog tired. we shut down early cause i had been working my buns off all day. and i finally got out of there at 10pm. makes for a long day. but i get to sleep in a bit tomorrow, dont have to go to work till 12 instead of 10. anyways im babbling (lack of sleep will do that). ill TRY to have some pictures up soon. not happy with the RF. i put a bolt to hold it on. if i move it down it makes the nut loose and then it just falls on its own. anyone got a tip on that???? any help would do. share your insights.

UPDATE:::: finally got everything moved in and unpacked. started throwing together a pvc mannaquin. did a little bit of work on my helmet and some other things i have, hopefully ill be able to slap it together and post a few pics soon. i am ready to call this project done and move on to something else. its not that i dont like it. it seems that everytime i think im "finished" i notice another thing on boba that i dont have lol. well i gotta head off to work. more updates and pics to come
