I've been surfing this site for about 3 weeks and thought i would give it a try. My question which will be the first of many is..When you cut out the two halfs of the inner surface how do you connect them together in front? It seems what ever you used to connect the would be mostly cut out when you put the visor in. Any help would be great. thanks

Dont connect it in the front, connect it in the back.

Put the pieces all toggether, and cut the outer, and the inner, so they attack in the rear. Then use another piece glued on the inside as a backing.

Another words, you wont have two halfs, youll have one, Long one.

I suppose if you are using small signs and have to have 2 pieces, youll use a piece of the plastic as a backing, glue them together with a backing before you wrap them into the shape of the helmet.

Once you heat it in the oven, and make it a little soft, it will be much easier to glue in the back.

Your welcome man, I cut the first two pieces of polystyrene wrong.

I cut it, and when I cut it and held it up i said 'ohh shoot it needs to cnnect in the back. So i cut out the templates again, spray glued them on tothe plastic, cut it out again, and did the same thing.

I _almost_ quit:) Then I got smart, and began to.....

MEASURE TWICE< CUT ONCE!

Just my 2 cents...Just remember to take your time and expect to make lots of mistakes. I have been working on my costume for 2 years and in that time I have had to re-do many parts of it. After a while you get used to it.
