    Apr 17, 2007, 7:43 PM - I redid my DP96 helmet today! #1

Well, since I am revamping my costume this year, I decided to repaint my helmet as well... The weathering is not completely done yet and I will replace my visor but it should give you an idea... I'll ''darken'' the helmet tomorrow and try to find a new visor... I can't seem to find any safety dark green visor... and limo tint doesn't stick to lexan... and no company wants to sell me 1 visor...

Anyways, enough with the chit-chat, on with the pictures...

I did the painting with my brushes... and rattle cans.
I know the first/second kill stripes are crooked... I found that out after they were painted on...

    Enjoy!

Well today I managed to make some more work on my helmet... I painted the rear-bottom part (darker green and 3 tones) and made some black sponge weathering...

I still need to change my visor... the one that is there is just temporary.

You can get visor material from rjsafety.com
check out www.tk409.com and he has the link for the material and which one.

Glass shop? You mean where they sell windows and stuff like that or places like Home Depot, Rona, Reno-Depot?

    ya like speedy auto glass
also i noticed you are in Montreal they have a paintball manufacturer there or can contact them and they may be able to customize a "v force" lens for you. Contact Diablo canada or PBL it hink the online site is buypbl.com that can get you in touch with them. Vforce lens though i think are poly carbonate either way they pass paintball standards so they are fairly tough.

oh...well if you trusted some here you could have them send one to you
or, I think bobamaker makes lenses, unless you are looking for something more local. You could go to a welding shop and ask where they get thier equipment from? Just trying to throw out suggestions...

Did you try a welding supplies type shop? every city needs welding supplies.

I did the same as you..looked at Revy, Home depot, Canadian Tire..w/no luck... then i looked in the yellow pages under welding.

i now have dark green (shade 5) face shield.

    I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Simon Fett, if you'd like I can check with a local distributor here in Ottawa called Canus Plastics. They do all sorts of custom and special orders.I've been considering getting my visor from them, so let me know.
