Hyperdyne voice changer help

Hey guys,

Had a hyperdyne unit turn up today, but having problems, so anyone with experience I would appreciate you help.

I'm getting no sound coming through at all. It plays the static burst when I finish talking but that's it, no speech in between.

Any ideas?

Are you using a powered mic or non-powered?
(Does the mic require a battery)

Powered mic. I've tested the mic on it's own and it works fine.

I take it you've got the TK voice chip. You're tellin' me you hear the static burst when you finish talking, but you do not hear any speech when you speak?

If that's the case, just outta curiosity (can't hurt to ask) ... did you push the remote 3 times before using it? You turn it on, you hear about 4 beeps, then you push the remote button: 2 beeps. Push again: two beeps. And push again: two beeps. Push a fourth time: 4 beeps. Now the unit is ready to go.

Is you speaker volume up enough?

If the sound is coming in too low, then try this (but I warn you, it will be EXTREMELY loud) ... with the unit off, hold the remote button down. Turn the unit on and continue to hold the remote button down for 1/2 a second.

That's right, plenty of static at the end but nothing in between.

The unit worked fine to start with, but for some reason it now no longer let's my speech through.

Try taking the chip out and putting it back in. I hope you didn't push the chip down all the way ... that may be the problem. If none of this works, try contacting Hypderdyne and asking for trouble-shooting tips.

If it worked fine before and now has trouble, I would say there is a technical issue with the board. Like JB said, contact HD.
