Humbrol Paint Questions

Hey guys,
Just about to start spraying my helmet but as im a first time airbrush user I thought I should quickly make sure of a couple of things just to be safe.
So my first question is with the acrylic paint, should I thin the paint before brushing it?
I also have some enamel paint which I'm guessing does have to be thinned, can it be thinned using a few drops of water and still spray fairly well?
Thanks
KyloRen

i normally use turpentine ( dont know if the name is correct, here in italy we call it acquaragia) or you can use the thinner of the brand you use, every brand has one

This is a good video I watched before I started painting. How different thinners mix with enamels. I use regular laquer thinner from home depot to mix paint and mineral spirits to clean my airbrush.

All the info above is great, but DO NOT use enamel over acrylics. It will not dry properly and remain tacky. I learned this the hard way on a model car once. You CAN however put the acrylic over the enamel, as long as its fully dry :)

Bottle of Enamel thinners from any hobby shop, like stated mix until it drops like milk... keep the spray nozzle clean by bushing thinners over it, dont let that nozzle dry out or it will splatter all over the place or not come out at all... if you are using a can of air connected to the spray gun keep shaking that can, it will keep the presure up, if the can gets cold let it warm up a bit for good presure (y)
